I have an exam tomorrow. The course is called Mechanics of Solids. This basically means trying
to solve questions involving complicated trusses in which you calculate forces, moments, energies,
deflections and end up wishing plague and pestilence on all things mechanical or solid.
Did you watch the big game? Barcelona were amazing. Zonal Marking has a good overview
here.
Which got me thinking... Barca played without a centre-forward again. We haven't got a
centre-forward. Not really. So if it works, it fits, why not use it? Zonal Marking
kindly broke down the Barca formation so I've borrowed from that, using my own state of the art
graphics.
Barca make short work of a terrified Osasuna
FC Barcelona moved five point clear off Real Madrid with tough 3-0 victory against Osasuna. This
is our seventh consecutive away win of the season and that's yet another La Liga record. There has
been huge controversy into the build up of this match.
Cristiano vs. Messi... Again!?!??!This whole Messi vs. Ronaldo business
being propagated by the Madrid Press is pathetic. Didn't Messi put this debate to bed during the
last El Clasico? It looked to me like last week's El Clasico has so convincingly proven
that Lionel Messi's current level is currently in another planet compared to any other player here
on Earth.
Young Barca side Strolls Past Rubin Kazan
It's fourth time lucky for Guardiola and Barca against the Russian side Rubin Kazan. Rubin Kazan
have been remaining as an unsolved puzzle till tonight. Guardiola tried thrice unsuccessfully with
the first team to break the Russian side, it looks like he should have gone for the kids earlier
itself.

Athletic Bilbao survived a late barrage of Barcelona pressure to earn a 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp
in a Copa del Rey last-16 first leg match. The second leg is scheduled for January 5.
Barca and Bilbao, who have won the cup 48 times between them, last met in the competition in the
2009 final when Pep Guardiola's side ran out 4-1 winners on their way to a six-trophy haul that
year.

This week's main report features the best player in the world. And no, he does not play for
Argentina! Xavi Hernández makes it as languagecaster's player of the year, so good that even Leo
Messi has to take a bow.
