Tomorrow sees us come up against our rivals, Arsenal, in their own backyard. Let's not beat around
the bush with this one either; this is our biggest match to-date this season.
I don't think Robbie Keane has made the situation easier. Saying that we've got a better squad than
them makes Wenger's job a whole lot simpler.

UT coach Adrian Bush was able to rest several regular starters in this afternoon's match against
Webber International and still keep his team unbeaten in 2009. Leading assist man, Dan Ingvarsson,
goalkeeper Ryan Thompson, and Brian Fekete all started the eight previous matches but were give the
afternoon off.

Some good food for thought as we start the week.
Tom Englelhart asks an important question this week in his excellent article "Is America Hooked On
War?"
And lest you think this is a jab at either major party, you'll find that Engelhart finds this
addiction started long before Bush and seems to have broad approval by both parties.

An interview that can't happen is Greg Lalas talking with Gavin Rossdale over a scotch about the
mixed blessing of having a close relation who is a bit more famous than you. Perhaps at the end of
said conversation they would have boded over their shared place in life, become BFF's and agree to
start a Slade-influenced metal band called Lesser Icons with Greg on drums, Gavino on guitar/vox
and Jamar Beasley on bass.

Well hello there.
I see you've caught me standing like a statue. You see, since no one has built an actual Berba
statue yet aside from the time my cousin Timitar attempted to make one out of mayonnaise and hair I
have taken it upon myself to fill that void by standing here outside your window.

C'mon Fergie... don't beat around the bush. Give us a name!
"I do have a decision to make over the goalkeeper for Sunday," reflected Ferguson.
"Both Ben and Tomasz have outstanding qualities. Tomasz made two great saves last night, as he did
against Boca Juniors, so we will see.

Let's not beat around the bush here. Real Madrid now own the rights to Cristiano Ronaldo.
That news comes on the heels the announcement that Kaka will make The Bernabeu his home. Reports
out of Madrid list David Villa, Frank Ribery and Xabi Alonso, among others, as additional targets
of the club during the summer and in advance of the August 9 friendly against D.

Will Juan Carlos Osorio's head roll this week? Clamoring up in New York, after two losses in the
past four days, is heating up. It's with good cause as well, with the 2-9-3 record equal to the
worst in the league. From day one in Seattle, the 2009 season has seemed doomed from the very first
kick of the season.

Read Naomi Wolf's thorough and absolutely horrific article about the sexual perversity
perpetrated by the Bushies in Iraq and elsewhere. I do not understand why Obama is rationalizing
and temporizing about releasing the photos and really going after these sadomasochistic pricks.
The activities of these dudes so speaks to the fruits of the kind of self-righteousness and
repression that is so often the hallmark of Bible thumping fundamentalism.

It's finally Friday, and after work today I'll be driving over Hogback to HollyCornblog's house!
She says she'll have the chiminea going and some homebrews ready for sampling when I get there!
In soccer news I see that, apparently, a share of the LA Sol is going to be up for grabs soon.
Any buyers?

Not sure what the big deal is. I mean US President Barack Obama might be the commander in chief
but he can also be a regulate soccer dad too.
After naming a new U.S. Ambassador to China, Obama jumped into his bullet-proof Silverado and
skipped out to his daughters soccer game. Some may think that a president should just do president
work all day long but come on, how much of that can anyone take.

Morning everybody! It's looking like a good reading day here in New Hampshire, although it's
early yet!
The Bookeaters had an excellent meeting at the Exeter Inn last night, where we broke bread and
discussed The Lincolns: Portrait of a Marriage. We all loved (and most of us read) the book, and I
would highly recommend it as a portrait, not only of a marriage but of a period of time.

In a bit of a rush this morning, as usual. Our black lab Willie came up lame yesterday. He has a
chronic shoulder problem which something seems to have exacerbated. This morning he seems a little
bit better, but still not himself. He'll be turning 10 this summer, so it's worrisome to see him
hurting.

Wow - what a race! I've watched the video twice and still can't quite track how it happened.Â
Red Sox, Phillies and Celtics all won their respective games yesterday ... and the Breakers came
back after a disappointing and lackluster performance against the Red Stars to beat Marta and her
LA Sol at Hahvard!

I've been remiss in not posting this picture of HollyCornblog's Hop Trellis circa April
2009!
As you can see, she's done an awful lot of work (backbreaking work, I might add) to give these
hops a fighting chance at thriving.
I for one am quite interested to see how hops do under the Obama administration.

In what sounded like a wild and wooly second half, Christine Latham and Kristin Luckinbill were
major contributers in a decisive 3-1 win for the Boston Breakers.
The Breakers scored first, on a PK by Kelly Smith in the 54th minute after Scurry fouled Hucles
in the box. Lori Lindsey equalized soon after, and Abby had a chance to give the Freedom their
first lead of the new season on a second PK (after a handball).

It's Breakers Game Day. Freezing, and quite possibly wet - but hey, we're hardy folk
right?
Before embarking on this new chapter in Breakers' history - a pause to remember good times
past. Maren? Dagney? We miss you!
No sound with this video - but that kinda makes it all the more resonant, doesn't it?

Saturday morning ... last morning before we go back to daylight savings time. I'm having some

I believe that the answer to that question is a resounding no. Oklahoma might have the
