Group B

Sudan went into this tournament having failed to score an ACN goal since 1976. Bet you didn't know that at kick-off against Angola last Thursday. Bet you were sick of hearing it by full-time.

Sudan broke this goalscoring duck (36 years, you know) moments after Eurosport's Matt Jackson declared he didn't know where their next goal is coming from.

The changes to the CONCACAF Champions League may have slipped by some due to all the MLS SuperDraft news. The new format breaks into four positives and three negatives. Travel for most clubs will be reduced, for the clubs in the Preliminary Round that advance it can drop by about 10,000 miles through the elimination of two cross-continental trips (there was a scenario last year where Seattle could travel 4700 miles one way in the Group Stage).

Match report

Firstly *boilk*

Secondly how fitting that on the 125th anniversary of the club we pulled out a 1-0 to the Arsenal, a result so synonymous with the club.

Thirdly the game itself was nothing much to talk about. Everton came and not only parked the bus but turned the bus sideways, then got another bus, attached that bus to the existing bus and then added another bus before placing all the buses in a row well outside the white lines of the parking space.

Bambang Pamungkas is the Gary Lineker of Indonesian football. Even the masses who loathe and mock the local game as unworthy of their attention recognize Bepe, as he is known, as a rare rose amid fields of energy sapping mud. His cherub looks and calm demeanour have crossed over from the football field to the advertising world where his face sells various products from billboards and buses.

Presenting: 'Jemay-Lee' by Royston Drenthe a little ditty about the part-time Dutch full-back's little girl, which comes off sounding somewhere between 'Seven Days' by Craig David and the tinny rap shite you have no choice but to overhear on buses these days.

Once again Arsene put the same eleven players on the pitch. Well, almost. Gervinho did take the place of Young Miyaichi but the rest of the starting line-up was same as the bunch that impressed in the Asia tour.

Many of us were eager to see how Gervinho performs, and I for one wasn't disappointed.

It's getting closer and closer; this upcoming weekend the Ekstraklasa will come back and give the meaning to the lives of Polish fans again. I can already feel it in the air: the sound of fans chanting, the smell of 'fresh' grilled sausages, the queues to the toilet and the overcrowded buses and trams that take you to and from the game.

I'm extremely lucky that Inglostadt, a city one hour North of Munich, was hosting TSV 1860 Munich.
