"In The FA Cup 5th Round United Will Face.
LONDON, England English Premier League star Jermaine Pennant — once Britain's most expensive
teenage soccer player — forgot he owned a Porsche, leaving the luxury car at a train station for
six months, it emerged Wednesday. On the same day "Britain's brainiest footballer," Burnley
defender Clarke Carlisle, announced he had been selected as a [.
Burnley rightly attracted much praise throughout their lone season in the top echelon even if the
plaudits were directed more towards the way the club was run than any on pitch achievements (that
never to be forgotten win over Manchester United notwithstanding). Having recouped more than the
money they paid for their only serious investment, Steven Fletcher and retained the kernel of the
squad
For a number of managers in the football league as well as some household names in the Premier
League, the new year has brought anything but cheer so far. Five football league managers have
already been given the boot this year, with two more – Darren Ferguson of Preston and Brian Laws
of Burnley – [.

The departure of Owen Coyle 12 months ago has so far proved to be too big an obstacle for
Burnley to recover from. Since the Scot left for the bright lights of Bolton, the club has slipped
from its short-lived stint among the country's elite and back into the Championship, and an
underwhelming first half of this season led to Coyle's successor, Brian Laws, being relieved of his
duties.

New Burnley gaffer Eddie Howe – who is, despite his sixth-form schoolboy looks, all of 33
years old – poses for the obligatory "wearing my new club's scarf proudly" shot. Howe is a fine
young manager who will one day manage in the Premier League (I'd wager), and Burnley's gain is
Bournemouth's loss.
Football goes all highbrow for a change Now let's face it, if you took the average footballer and
put him on Question Time, it would be akin to giving a chimpanzee an abacus and asking him to do
your tax return, although it would bring an often needed element of comedy to the show. Thankfully,

Obviously, the two signings have been announced, with WBA's Miller reportedly on the cusp of
being officially announced!
"It really bugs me", an exasperated Paul Calf once exclaimed. "They say, 'Oh, David Beckham - he's
not very clever.' Yeah. They don't say, 'Stephen Hawking — he's a bit shit at football.'" Many a
true word is spoken in jest, and Steve Coogan's mulleted Man City fan may have been onto
something. While adored and idolised for their abilities on the pitch and for their "intelligence"

Brace yourselves, everybody, because it's FA Cup fourth-round weekend in England (from here on out
known as the tremendous thirty-two). The FA Cup is the most exciting tournament in the country, and
there's always the chance for huge upsets in every round. We've got our share of big matches:
Everton host Chelsea at Goodison Park in what looks to be the choicest fixture of the round.
After a frustrating festive season, with games abandoned and Forest left behind by a group of
sides, few would have dared to dream of the consistency shown since and the position in the table
that Forest now occupy. Is this a sustainable promotion charge that Forest are entertaining? [...]
Chelsea held over heavy Liverpool pressure to win the FA Cup for the seventh time, and their
fourth in six years, as they beat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley today thanks to Ramires's first-half
goal and a landmark strike by Didier Drogba.
Chelsea got off to a great start when Ramires scored after 11 minutes.
Non-League Crawley have got a dream tie against Manchester United in the 5th
Round of the FA Cup.

Edin Dzeko's late equaliser earned Man City a replay at Eastlands which ought to ensure their
place in the 5th round of the FA Cup, meaning that's where we'll almost certainly be heading. It
wasn't the re-match with the Blues many fans feared or hoped for, but it's far from ideal.
I suppose there is still the chance that Notts County could beat City, but it's slim.
Hmm, 3-2 loss at the Boleyn Ground in the FA Cup, feeling slightly unlucky to have not finished
with a draw or even sneaking a win. Deja vu? Much? A little bit I guess! The 'reward' for the
victor is a home game against Burnley, for us the opportunity to redouble our focus on our league
campaign which recommences as soon as Tuesday [.
