Burnley were three minutes away from glory and Wembley against Tottenham tonight at Turf
Moor.
Burnley were leading on the night 3-0, then in the space of a couple of minutes Tottenham
scored twice to return to Wembley to play Man Utd on Sunday 1st March as holders of the Carling
Cup.
Given the result of the first leg, I think everyone must have thought, myself included, that
Tottenham would have held out for an easy win or even a draw to secure their second consecutive
appearance in the Carling Cup final... turns out Burnley had other ideas and they made the
Lillywhites look more like Pansies instead.

with two late goals after extra time, the final results of both matches were Tottenham 4-1

Last night Tottenham Hotspur just scraped through to the Carling Cup Final by Beating Burnley 3-2
with two late goals after extra time, the final results of both matches were Tottenham 4-1 Burnley
and Burnley 3-2 Tottenham. Which means that the final result was Burnley 4-6 Tottenham.
In the final two minutes it looked like Man United were going to face Burnley who knocked Chelsea
and Arsenal earlier in the competition but two quick late goals from Defoe and Pavlyuchenko.
