I've been waiting for a video of this to surface since Tuesday night, in so far as it was the
only slight sliver of a shred of commiseration we Forest fans were able to take from the night.
Burnley won 2-0. Rodriguez scored them both.
Anyway, with the score at 1-0, the man they call 'Jay Rod' up around Turf Moor way stepped up
and performed a timely homage to John Terry's infamously spunked Moscow spot-kick which proved to
be the only highlight of the game from a Forest perspective.
Ecks-iting news!Well that was surprisingly fast! After hearing about the "99%
certainty" of Richard Eckersley's return to Toronto FC since late November, it took less than a day
after his "Ecks'ual release" from Burnley to finalize a permanent move to Toronto.
The Reds officially announced the deal just hours prior to their big media day event, no doubt
steering the news of the day onto the English defender.
Newcastle United have apparently shown an interest in Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez, according to
local reports in Lancashire. Jay Rodriquez Newcastle may go after him this summer Newcastle are
said to have made tentative inquiries about the 22 year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 32
appearances for Burnley this season.
I've written some poems about the Premiership action this weekend. Starting with Chelsea, ending
with Swansea... Celebration: A thunderous volley rattles the bar falling to a favorible shin. A
smug look of delight floats across number 8 as the ball ricochets in. 'Run Lamps, RUN', point to
the sky cherish this moment of celebration.
Welcome to The Yorkies' regular off-season rumour roundup - "The Rumoumeter". Too busy to keep your

are hot - and which ones have hit the back burner. Some of the rumours have weight - others little
more than whispers; we take their temperature with.
A three-year deal Joao?"El MosQuito" will be buzzing around BMO Field for the
foreseeable future as Toronto FC announced today that Joao Plata has signed a multi-year deal with
the club. The dynamic yet diminutive Ecuadorian was often the only bright spark in a miserable
first half of 2011 and his re-signing was considered as an off-season must in most supporters'
eyes.
Glory Glory Leeds brings a mixed show this week despair at a hammering at Barnsley, more doubts
over the manager's future and a massive sigh of relief at the win against Burnley to start 2012! We

This is a Poem about Kean people and six-pointers and that...yeah. Bolton vs Blackburn, Trotters
vs Rovers. It's winner takes all...not a game for pushovers. For the players it's a race
against time, for the manager a race against the sack. No doubt any decision with be influenced
by some journalist hack.

Please do your bit to help Gary Parkinson, one of this world's good guys
It has been more than 15 months since Gary Parkinson suffered a massive stroke that means the
only way he can communicate is by blinking his eyes. Parky was in charge of youth development at
Blackpool after a career that had taken him to Bloomfield Road via spells at Everton,
Middlesbrough, Southend, Bolton, Burnley and Preston.
Last Tuesday night I sat through a freezing cold 4:0 defeat at Burnley and it was gutting.
I spent the whole drive home in deep thought, trying to make sense of what is going wrong with my
beloved Ipswich. I came to the conclusion that the most significant contributing factor to the 6
straight defeats was a lack of confidence.
Swansea face a battle with Liverpool to sign teenage Cliftonville striker Rory Donnelly reports the
Daily Express.
The 19-year-old is attracting interest from a number of English clubs, with League One side
Brentford having also made an offer for the talented youngster.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has been alerted to Donnelly's potential and is weighing up an attempt to
entice him to Anfield when the transfer window reopens in January.

A Manchester United player craze for Bernese Mountain Dogs has had unfortunate consequences for
midfielder Anderson. The talented linguist, who last year told MUTV "I no speak England very very
good, mate", was so impressed with the hounds team-mates were buying from a shop in Salford that he
decided to get two of his own.

Gary Parkinson had enjoyed a long football career, making over 450 league appearances with
Middlesbrough, Burnley and Preston amongst others. When his playing days ended, the defender moved
into coaching and a job at head of youth development at Blackpool.

This weekend's fixtures look like a pretty sedate set on the face of it. Leeds' terrestrially
televised trip across the shires to meet Burnley and what may be the most pathetic grudge in
history, Saints versus Seagulls, are worth keeping on the radar perhaps, but otherwise I can't help
but be drawn down the leagues to the two derbies west of Bristol.
Okay, here's some more. One thing to clarify is that we're approaching this from a position of
Etuhu positivism: we think he's a good player and adds a lot to the team. But a lot of people are
criticising him at the moment so, just as we did with Zamora back in the day, it seems worthwhile
to have a closer look to see if we can find anything interesting.
There has been lots of talk about the goal glut that is happening in the Premier League right
now. Are pricey strikers to blame or is it the death of quality defense? Decision Technology's
Ian Graham has already taken a look at debunking the Guardian's piece on the "goal glut". I
thought I'd add my two cents.
Gems of the Lower Leagues: Charlie Austin is a post from: Just Football

Charlie Austin has made a meteoric leap from being a bricklayer playing for

Ahead of what could be his first league Manchester derby, Phil Jones has claimed nasty
atmosphere don't effect him and he's hoping it's our fans smiling come the final whistle.
"I played for Blackburn against Burnley and that was pretty hostile, although I would
imagine this tops that one," he said.
Close off the Premier League?
Honestly, I'd go the other way and open the thing up.
The rewards on offer are so great that millions upon millions are spent by desperate Premier
League clubs who will do anything to stay where they are. Some clubs (Wolves did it once, I
think, Burnley and Blackpool have been shrewd) can make a profit from the silly TV money, the rest
write the disappearing zeroes off as the cost of doing business and keep on keeping on like a drunk
guinea pig stuck on a hamster wheel and starting to feel a bit sick.
Recently I have been enjoying the discovery of the wonderful www.fulhamfootballprogrammes.co.uk

scanned copies of Programmes from every era of Club's history.
There is an old song that goes along the lines of "Nottingham, is full of fun. Oh Nottingham is

Arsenal have been handed a home draw at Emirates Stadium against Bolton Wanderers in the Fourth
Round of the Carling Cup.
The Gunners secured their passage to this stage of the competition with a 3-1 victory over
Shrewsbury at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Bolton made it to the Fourth Round with a 2-0 win at Aston Villa.
Aldershot Town to host Manchester United in Carling Cup fourth-round
• League Two side draw the Premier League champions • Arsenal to play Bolton, Liverpool face
Stoke The League Two side Aldershot Town have drawn Manchester United at home in the stand-out tie
of the fourth-round draw of the Carling Cup.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has dismissed suggestions that there will be any tension for him at
the Emirates Stadium this weekend when Bolton visit fellow strugglers Arsenal.
Both clubs have performed below their capabilities thus far in the season and while Arsenal
could have done much better with the services of a proven English center-back such as the Trotters'
Gary Cahill, a war of words between the two managers brought an end to the negotiations last
month.
Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing will not be joining Burnley on loan when the window re-opens for
clubs in the Football League.
The young midfielder, who gained a handful of first team opportunities at Liverpool under Kenny
Dalglish last term, has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield after a handful of arrivals in the
transfer window.
When it comes down to it, there are several categories which are splitting the Championship
equally. The resurgence of the newly promoted teams is wowing everybody and shows that you do not
have to spend large sums to get success. Unlike their Premier League counterparts, they do not have
millions to spare and could prove to be tricky.
Transfer deadline day deals: The view from the Championship is a post from: Just Football

After a sitting down for a chat before the Sunderland match lead to an ultimately disappointing
result while Arsenal turned out much better when taking the week off, there was some obvious
trepidation when it came to our chat with Matilda of the Bolton Offside. But when Tea and Crumpets
heard that fillet steak simmered in red wine, garlic, and vegetable sauce was an option at the
Reebok and that we wouldn't be stuck eating hobo stew out of an old tin can, we figured we might as
well cross our fingers and take a shot at trying to better understand these Wanderers that don't do
a whole lot of wandering any more.
The obligatory Owen Coyle photo
The cup season is upon us once again as Bolton Wanderers open the Carling Cup against
Macclesfield Town at the Reebok. The Silkmen of League Two downed Hull City by a score of 2-0 to
reach the second round. Bolton will look to do better than they did last year when they were ousted
by Burnley in the third round.

Tottenham's Premier League match with Everton on Saturday has been postponed because of the

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said he was "positive" the other nine games in
the opening round of top-flight fixtures would go ahead. And prime minister David Cameron suggested
they could kick off earlier than scheduled to assist the police.
