You're looking at a leaked design sheet for Bayern Munich's new Adidas kits for next season. Two
words: tiny socks.
The home kit sees a switch to red-and-white vertical stripes their home kit this season
features an all-red shirt whilst the away kit sees another change of colour scheme (I've lost count
of the different away kits sported by Bayern), with horizontal white-and-sky blue stripes.
Awwwww, Major League Soccer. If anyone should be an MLS fan it should be me. I grew up playing
the sport; I love watching the sport; I've covered the sport at the high school, college and
professional level; I have a blog called IntelligentSoccer.com. If the MLS can't win me over
there's something seriously wrong.
Clint Dempsey is the model American player in Europe right now. Having gone through three
managers at Fulham after rejecting any and all overtures to stay in MLS, Deuce is the inverse of
Landon Donovan. Now Donovan appears ready to assert himself in a loan spell at Everton.
Rejecting his comfort zone for a challenge that would raise his quality and relevance as a
player, Dempsey has become the signature American player for fans of the European game.
An intriguing topic to so many who follow MLS is just how good is this league? I commonly refer
to it as between the 15-25 range, but that is a wide range, and highly subjective. Without the Holy
Grail of statistics finding a unified number across leagues though can there be an objective study
on league strength rather than the classic arguments centered on the top third of a league or its
middle third?
For most Europeans, the January transfer window is all tease and no touch. Very few moves of
true import happen in January, and that is especially true in a World Cup year, where players would
rather see if the tournament can up their stock. However, for American soccer stars, the January
transfer window, which occurs during the MLS off-season, is their best chance to find a new
home.
Only a few months ago, the Scottish Premier League appointed Neil Doncaster as the Chief
Executive to replace Lex Gold who was a long-serving member.
With numerous call-offs in the last few weeks and a dire standard of football in Scotland's top
flight, Doncaster has come in for tough criticism by journalists and managers that are eager to see
the SPL and its clubs become more respected in World Football.

Here's the hottest transfer gossip to dribble off presses this morning...
Gerrard catches up on a little light Reading
Rumour No. 1: One of those 'sources close to/someone in our office reckons'
stories has surfaced this morning as, according to The Daily Star, Liverpool captain
Steven Gerrard has one eye on the exit door at Anfield.
Name: Jünter the foal
Mascot of: Borussia Mönchengladbach, since 1965 Jünter's name and the number
10 on the back of his shirt are references to Günter Netzer, one of the greatest players in the
club's history
Distinguishing features: White mohican, big teeth, large cock
Jünter (a local dialect form of Günter) hit the headlines in 2005 when he was abused by
Borussia's then-goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
What promised to be a big weekend in club football was dampened a great deal this weekend due to
the snow and ice and cold in London. The biggest match to be cancelled was Tottenham's moment of
truth against Liverpool.
Still, there was an increased amount of action this weekend. Along with the English and Spanish
leagues, the Italian Serie A, Greek Super League and Portuguese Liga Sagres returned to action this
weekend, providing some excitement.
It was a relatively slow day in transfer news and rumors on Tuesday, and when such a day comes
about, you're bound to get an outlandish story or two for the sake of filler.
Along with The Sun's delivering of such a space filler and time killer, there were actually a
few more believable transfer tidbits from here, there, and everywhere on Tuesday, including the
latest on Chelsea's hunt for a new striker and Manchester United's hunt for a future #1
goalkeeper.

Here's Wednesday's gossip round up, and what a round up it is!
Without doubt, the most common sight in Serie A
Rumour No. 1: Real Madrid are keen to add some defensive muscle to their ranks
as the new wave of Galacticos continue to leak soft goals.
US National Team midfielder Ricardo Clark is officially a member of the Bundesliga's Eintract
Frankfurt. His deal runs through the end of the current season with the possibility of an
extension. Clark left the Houston Dynamo, where he was out of contract.

West Ham have seen their huge £100,000-a-week wage offer to Real Madrid striker Ruud
Van Nistelrooy turned down as the Dutchman isn't keen on returning to The Premier
League.
By Ollie Irish
Ruud van Nistelrooy turned down potential moves to West Ham and Spurs, among
others, to pen an 18-month contract with Hamburg. The Dutch striker joined on a free transfer from
Real Madrid.
Ruud's reason for leaving Madrid? He craved regular first-team football, telling Spanish
publication Marca: "Saying goodbye to Real Madrid is very difficult.
Italian international striker Luca Toni has joined Italian Serie side AS Roma on a six-month loan
from the Bundesliga's FC Bayern Munich. The 32-year-old striker was presented as an AS Roma player
earlier today in Rome. He then featured in the club's friendly match against Cisco Roma. Once a
fixture in the Bayern Munich frontline, Toni has [.

fissato a 4.
You will never look at Jamie Redknapp the same again. Bold statement of the day: Franck Ribery is
overrated. (Ligue 1 Talk) The Rocket Man that's Sir Elton talks football. (BBC) The Bolton/Burnley
debate is bad for one's health. (The DA) Television is killing the football. (Jonathan Wilson)
Steve McClaren: still doing big things in Holland.
Even the most ambitious of Bayern Munich fans wouldn't have expected their team to still be in
the hunt for the title, given their start to the season.
Munich had a terrible start, and didn't look like making a title challenge until a couple of
weeks before the winter break. Bayern had several players out through injury including Arjen Robben
and Franck Ribery, but their turnaround came from an unlikely source.

Bit of a double-barreller to get us off the mark this morning.
It seems that Birmingham are going to be a bit of a staple in this months transfer speculation
after Blues chairman Carson Yeung's strange decision to announce to all and sundry that they have
a shed load of cash to burn.
On the verge of signing a long-term deal with German club Mainz, midfielder Jared Jeffrey is
expected to finally have his shot at first-team action as the team looks to solidify their
Bundesliga standing.
Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell were two key parts of Arsenal's successes in the early part of
the 2000s, and after both moved on to other pastures (Vieira's was greener, Campbell's was not), it
looks like we could see both coming to a Premier League stadium near you again soon, as today's
transfer roundup indicates.
Winter break is over, and the leagues around Europe will resume in full force this weekend. At this
juncture, I felt it appropriate to present a snapshot of how the dust had temporarily settled and
will start to pick up again this January 2010. Fahid Ben Khalfallah or "the little Ribery" as he is
known in France, is leading the assists table in Ligue 1 ahead of the more established Yoann
Edin takes the Women's Singles title at Wimbledon
Rumour No.1: Despite Carlo Ancelotti's repeated protestations that Chelsea
will remain dormant during the transfer window, The Daily Mirror are today reporting
that The Blues are preparing a huge bid to trigger the buy-out clause in Edin
Dzeko's contract with his current club Wolfsburg.

This has got to be the quietest day, rumour-wise, of the window so far! Anywho here's the
gossip round up...
Lucas plays 'the waiting game'
Rumour No. 1: Galatasaray have tabled an £800,000 bid for Lucas
Neill despite the Australian full back having only joined Everton a few months ago.
Over the past couple of seasons one striker has really shone out in the Bundesliga –
Wolfsburg's Bosnian international Edin Dzeko.
Dzeko is a big imposing striker whose physical presence is a problem for
defenders trying to mark him, but he is also blessed with some near skills.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall...Who is the fairest of them all? Well in terms of football in
Europe it comes as no surprise that at the halfway point in the season, Germany leads the way in
terms of attendances.
A country that scoffs at the idea of ripping off the fans and consequently charges an average of
26 Euros to watch a top level game.
