If you're a U.S. national team fan hoping to catch a glimpse of midfielder Jermaine Jones, you
may soon get your chance.
Jones returned to practice for Schalke 04 on Tuesday, having finally recovered from a nagging
shin injury that has sidelined him for most of 2009. Jones ran through training exercises and some
ball work.
U.S. youth international Jared Jeffrey has moved from F.C. Bruges to German Bundesliga side FSV
Mainz 05. You can read more about it here. Its yet another young U.S. player in the Bundesliga, and
should be interesting to see how he does.
Bayern Munich lived up to their nickname FC Hollywood after they qualified for the last 16 of
this season's Champions League in truly dramatic fashion. They never seem to do the task in hand
the easy way. Drama always seems to surround the Germans (and sometimes it's not in their favour
either).
Jurgen Klinsmann insists that reports linking him with the manager's job at Liverpool are simply
rumours, though he also maintains that he will have a new job after the World Cup and that his new
post might not be in the Bundesliga.
Reds co-owner Tom Hicks has admitted talking to the former Germany and Bayern Munich coach in the
past after previous rumours linking the ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker with an Anfield switch.
It's December 1st! So I hope you're all enjoying that horrible chalky chocolate sheep from your
Advent calendars this morning.
But way more importantly, it's International Watch Another League month! That's right kids, it's
back. For the entire month of December, I will shun the Premier League in favour of another league,
which is especially hard seeing as I'll be in England all next week singing like a girl for schools
that teach people to do things like that.
Ladies and gents, I give you the new Niall Quinn...
Luca Toni.
The maths is as follows:
X: Toni is very unhappy at Bayern Munich, having failed to adjust to the German
culture. He's also fallen out with manager Louis van Gaal, who is not the most forgiving of
men.
Bayern. Hats off to Bayern. They didn't just get the result they needed, they
got in style beating Juventus 4-1. This match certainly rates as the best Bayern performance of the
season. Something I didn't really expect. Bayern got their season back on track as far as the
results were concerned recently, but the football was below par and more worryingly the defense
started to get shaky.
Well, Arsenal goes down 1-0 to Olympiakos. For all the talk about how we might be disrespecting
the competition by fielding a team of players in their teens and early 20s, it sounds like they
went out there and put on a pretty good performance. Playing Olympiakos in Athens is never easy,
and a 1-0 loss is nothing to be ashamed of.
Who said German isn't a lyrical language? 'Jens macht pipi' is pure poetry.
Always good to see Mad Jens up to his old tricks.
... is to score more own goals. A player who scored an own goal will usually feel horrible about
it. Even more so when he cost his team not just a goal but valuable points or at worst even a
trophy. Depending on the overall comedic value of his blunder, the player will receive further
ridicule [...]
Strange records were equalled or broken this weekend.
3. Hannover scored three own goals in their match against Borussia
Mönchengladbach. They set a new record for own goals scored by one team and equalled the record of
most own goals in a Bundesliga match (Kaiserslautern 1-3 Stuttgart, 9th November 1963).

Feilhaber during Confederations Cup (CC.org/ US State Dept.)
In the US he is popular. Outside of it he is arguably one of the most respected American soccer
players to have come out in the past five years. He made a name for himself in the Bundesliga and
has become one of the best players in the Danish Superliga.
This is my personal top-ten list of the best teams of the year 2010:10) VfL Wolfsburg: surprising
winners of the Bundesliga under Felix Magath.9) Brazil: came out again as hige favourites for the
World Cup, qualifying in South America and winning the Confederations Cup in awesome style8)
Bordeaux: Broke the dominance of Olympique Lyon winning the French league and was splendid in the
CL.

Greek side Panathinaikos are set to swoop for Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin in the
January transfer window, according to reports.
I just added links with RSS feeds to Jaime Trecker's blog on the Fox Sports Community and also the
official blog for the Men's U.S. National Team to this website. Even more reasons to make Pro
Soccer Weekly your homepage. I have all of the latest news from around the soccer world constantly
updated via the RSS feeds from websites such as ESPN Soccernet and the New York Times to the latest
news from the Bundesliga.
I didn't get to watch much Bundesliga action last week for reasons I won't bore you with. So this
week's round-up promises to be shorter than the essays I've penned in the last couple of weeks. One
of the few games that I did manage to catch was Bayern Munich's visit to an emotional AWD
Arena to face Hannover.
04.12.2009 - Bundesliga
Bayern München - Gladbach 2:1
The most interesting match of tomorrows round of the Champions League has to be the clash between
Juventus Torino and Bayern Munchen. Why is it so important? First of all these two teams have great
history in the competition, Juve have won the competition 2 times, 1985 and 1996, and Bayern won it
no less than 4 times: 1974, 1975, 1976 and 2001.
Thomas Dooley, former USMNT captain, joins us to talk about the US team and other topics.
After retiring as a player who spent most of his career in the Bundesliga, Dooley now lives in
California and works with youth soccer and also for Match Analysis, a company that complies soccer
statistics and sells the information to soccer clubs and federations.
Mainz 05.
When Jens Lehmann hangs up his boots or Sejad Salihovic's next summer, he can be sure that he
retired while he was at the top of his game. His game, of course, is not to be confused with our
game. The beautiful game. Although, depending on how you look at it, you can find [...]

Borussia Mönchengladbach 5-3 Hannover 96
German Bundesliga - 12.12.2009
When a team concedes one own goal in a match you'd generally consider it unfortunate. Two own goals
in a match has to go down as a rarity. But to concede three own goals in one game? Well that's just
careless.
I just caught some Bundesliga highlights of Borussia Mönchengladbach's 5-3 win over Hannover 96
last weekend and by the end of it I was chuckling away to myself in complete disbelief, as I'm sure
the majority of Gladbach fans were too.
It's another full week of fixtures in the top European leagues such as the Spanish Primera
Division aka La Liga, French Ligue 1, and Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, and the Scottish
Premier League. FC Barcelona is in UAE playing in the FIFA 2009 Club World Cup but Real Madrid
hosts Real Zaragoza in La Liga.
EPL on Setanta: Wolverhampton - Burnley at 8:30am. On FSC: West Ham - Chelsea at 11am and Everton -
Birmingham City at 5pm. Serie A on FSC: Roma - Parma at 9am and Inter Milan - Lazio at 2:30pm.
Bundesliga on GolTV: Hamburg - Werder Bremen at 10:30am. Ligue 1 on Setanta: Lille - Le Mans at
11am. La Liga on ESPN Deportes: Espanyol - Almeria at 11am and Deportivo - Valencia at 3pm.

Kop flops Andriy Voronin and Ryan Babel could all leave Liverpool next month as Rafa Benitez looks
to raise funds in order to strengthen his stuttering squad.
The Spaniard has grown frustrated with the form and attitude of £10million Dutch forward Ryan
Babel, who was last seen limping out of his side's draw with Manchester City in mid-November.

Hicks has admitted holding talks in the past.
