FBM was lucky enough to get a VIP invite to the Nike Soccer/ Bumpy Pitch "Celebration of Los Angeles" party during MLS Cup 2011 weekend. Us, along with the leadership of The American Outlaws took off to the historic Ricardo Montalbon Theater in Hollywood for drinks, diversions, and, of course, some sweet American soccer swag.

Woke up this morning to learn that my favorite new marketing campaign has "gone viral", with Jeremiah Oshan attributing the 16,000 season ticket sales that took place before the ad ran to the sexy campaign:

It should be noted that the Whitecaps' promos appear to be even more successful, as they've reportedly sold close to 16,000 season tickets already.

I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that tonight is the 10th anniversary of the original Cold War match between the USA and Mexico. It was the first matchday of the 2001 Hexagonal and the USA had experienced a bruising semifinal round that saw them play in the steaming Guatemalan jungle, a hellish Saprissa environment, and a bumpy pitch in Barbados (just 25 minutes away from being eliminated!

Blackburn Rovers have made an audacious bid to sign Ronaldinho from Milan. The plan is the brainchild of Balaji Rao, a member of the family who run Venky's, the Indian chicken company which recently bought the Lancashire club.
