The new tournament in India had its auction today. A quick refresher for those who allow quirky
short-term tournament formats to slip from the back of their minds (shame): five teams, each team
bids for a leading "icon", along with two foreigners and a manager, with a wage budget of $2.5m.
(How much is being ballparked for the icons 30-40%?
Three of Sporting KC's trialists are heading to Arizona with the Sporting KC team. Goalkeepers
Steve Spangler and Scott Angevine will be joined by former Michigan State midfielder, Cyrus Saydee
in Arizona. The team departs tomorrow.
Sadly for Irving Garcia, Matt Kuhn, Myron Samuel, and Kevin Struck the attempts to make the
Sporting KC roster end after a few days.
Despite the nonsense about some other matchup in the Copa del Rey right now can't quite remember
the names of those rather insignificant teams at the moment the real story is not east, not west,
but down. Way down in the third division. Mirandes, a humble little club in the north of Spain,
knocked off their third yes, third La Liga opponent to get to the Copa del Rey.
Here's a quick shout out to those of you looking for a budget, 5th midfielder in the Fantasy

There has been lots of speculation in January about whether the likes of Demba Ba and Cheick Tiote
will be leaving the club. Alan Pardew best possible players with the budget we have And that's
hardly surprising given what happened last January, when Newcastle fans were told there was
absolutely no chance that top striker Andy Carroll, [.
Mirror: Why Spurs won't win the Premier League
Harry Redknapp is in charge of one of the only three teams that can win the Premier League.
Tottenham ultimately will fall short in the title race. But they have shown that you can still
build a successful team on a smaller budget (compared to Manchester City) and that is a fantastic
thing for the Premier League.
2011 is almost over, so it's time to debut what will hopefully become an annual event here on
Dynamo Theory. We're calling them, "The Creamsicles" and they will be ours, along with our readers,
chance to award various Dynamo players with the always meaningful internet honor of being selected

With Estudiantes Tecos about to wrap up there season and facing a budget-balancing puzzle, the
US's prodigal poacher south of the border is headed north out of town.
TSG has confirmed that the 2010 World Cup vet will join Club Santos Laguna (where former US
coach Bob Bradley was said to be in talks about their head role before taking the Egypt job) after
the conclusion of Mexican Apertura playoff final series Sunday.
Major League Soccer's Re-Entry Draft is a quirky thing. There are a lot of rules and not every
player who has their option declined enters the draft. Rather than post the list of players
available along with the rules, I'm breaking it up to make it more digestible. Re-Entry Rules &
Timeline and Re-Entry Player Eligibility are after the break.
Today's Expansion Draft and Waiver Draft kicked off the MLS offseason today. The New York Red Bulls
waived six seldom seen players today: Alex Horwath(1 G, 90 Min), Mike Jones (1G, 1 Min), Tyler
Lassiter, Marcos Paullo, John Rooney (5 G, 48 Min), and Teddy Schneider. Collectively, this frees
up two international slots, five off-budget slots, and $289,000 in salary cap.
Fernando Torres insists Liverpool fans are unaware of the real reasons behind his transfer to
Chelsea.
Torres moved from Anfield to Stamford Bridge last January in a move which angered Reds supporters,
who vented their disapproval on the Spaniard when the clubs met just days later. But Torres claims
there are reasons behind his transfer that have yet to be made public, and also hailed the
influence of former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez on his career.
Fernando Torres: Liverpool fans do not know reasons for Chelsea move
• 'Liverpool's fan have stuck with the story the club gave' • Torres thanks Chelsea fans for
support during poor spell As Fernando Torres prepares to come face-to-face with his former club on
Sunday he has warned the Liverpool fans that the full story behind his transfer to Chelsea in
January has yet to emerge.
I'm getting this out later than I had planned to, but it seemed like every night when I sat down to
write it there was other news that I wanted to get to first and by the time I was done with those I
was ready to be done. But now it's time to take a look at the upcoming expansion draft.
First, here are the rules for the expansion draft and how the rules affect Kansas City.
Spain's centre-right People's Party said it will push Real Madrid and Barcelona to have more
equitable distribution of income from television rights, according to PP policymaker Miriam
Blasco.
"You have to support the small teams as well, because it's true that the Spanish league would
not exist if it was not working for all the clubs," Blasco, a candidate to become Spain's top
sports official after the election, said in an interview.
Google+ has finally allowed "brands" on its social network. Check out the Pitch Invasion page

So, amidst all the Steve Nicol farewells and the new coach speculation, the 2012 Expansion Draft
is rapidly approaching (November 23rd), and the Revs have some decisions to make-11 decisions, to
be precise. For those unfamiliar with how the Expansion Draft works, here's a brief breakdown of
the rules, per an October 19th MLS Press Release:
NEW YORK (October 19, 2011) - Major League Soccer will hold the 2012
MLS Expansion Draft via conference call on Wednesday, November 23, at 2 p.
Let's begin the expansion draft dance, shall we?
Some rules of the road:
- The rules allow teams to protect eleven players.
- United must protect one of their international players (Jakovic or Boskovic).
- I'm going to make the assumption that Kitchen will be graduated from GenAd and thus will need
to be protected.
For many the Spanish Primera Liga is the ultimate two-team league. You have footballing powerhouses
Barcelona and Real Madrid, and then you have the rest, scratching around for scraps.
The way Spanish clubs negotiate their own TV rights also means that this inequality is merely
magnified when it comes to finances – the big two able to command fees far higher than the rest.
Once again Kansas City runs the risk of losing one of their players in this year's expansion draft
to help fill the roster for the Montreal Impact. Yesterday MLS released the date as well as the
basic rules for the draft.
The draft will be held on November 23, 3 days after the MLS Cup final in LA.
I've been slowly going through the expansion draft protection lists (more coming this week by
the way) here and now we have the rules for the draft.
Major League Soccer will hold the 2012 MLS Expansion Draft via conference call on Wednesday,
November 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. ET. The Montreal Impact, will select 10 players during the 10-round
draft.
The video for M83's "Midnight City" just dropped so everyone else can just go on and put the
cameras and lights down now because the video of the year has been made. Seriously anonymous record
label marketing dept. save your promo budget, use it on tour support instead.
It's kind of on some ComicCon-goes-to-SVA sh*t but I dare anyone to make a video this year that can
match this for storytelling, effects, cinematography and ability to capture the forlorn,
retro-futuristic mood of the song so effectively.
I have to admit, there are a number of things that Manchester City are doing very well, better
than most of the clubs in the league at the moment. Their website is excellent and the video
content they produce also sets the standard for the rest to follow. I'd imagine their budget for
this sort of thing is somewhat bigger than most clubs.

In their tenth season out of the last eleven playing top flight football, ‘the flying donkeys'
were initially punching way above their weight. Generally, with the smallest budget, the smallest
squad and the smallest crowds, every season saw the club installed as both the bookies and the
critics favourites for a return to Serie B.

Toronto 1 - UNAM Pumas 1 Yellow cards caught up with Toronto for their home date against Pumas,
forcing lineup changes that should've given the visitors a clear advantage. Instead, it was Toronto
going up a goal through Peri Marosevic in the 35th minute and holding on for the point after Marco
Palacios equalized in the 51st.
Having insisted in July that Gillingham's budget should provide enough wherewithal to challenge for
promotion this year, the early signs have been encouraging for chairman Paul Scally. Saturday's 3-1
victory over Burton Albion was comfortably earned and Danny Kedwell, uprooted from AFC Wimbledon
with the promise of a return to his native Kent, scored twice to take his tally for the season to

The Philadelphia Union have placed attacking midfielder Levi Houapeu on the Season Ending Injury
list, according to roster information the Brotherly Game received from a league source.
While Houapeu's salary still needs to be paid by the Union, his international roster spot is
opened up because of his new designation.
There is a reality-bending report that claims Aberdeen are set to open talks for U.S. striker Eddie
Johnson. Yes, the club have paid some attention to the free agent, but a club source told me that
1) they just bought the striker they were looking for & 2) they are out of budget unless someone
leaves.
During its initial release, the Nike CTR360 Trequartista gained a reputation
for being a very solid, value for money option. Second time around, Nike has ensured that this
reputation is kept intact, by creating a very classic release that really doesn't stray too far
away from its predecessor.
Disheartening Spurs dealt a footballing lesson to Hearts in their Europa League qualifier first-leg
last night. Harry Redknapp's side eased to a 0-5 victory over Hearts with goals from Rafael Van der
Vaart, Jermain Defoe, Jake Livermore, Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon. Redknapp was gracious in
pointing out the bigger budget at his disposal.

With one match left to go tomorrow (Monday), the first thing we learned is that when your fantasy
pundit spends the summer harping on the fact that you should spend your time, effort, and budget
picking home players that we won't see a home win in week 1. I stick by my initial hypothesis
that you should strongly favor players playing at home but this was certainly not great positive

Something in the comments thread of this post got me thinking. If Hanauer doesn't make a
deadline deal to bring in bigger talent, is he a failure?
If you don't want to know the score, look away now: What to expect in the Premier League
this season, month by month
We built our own flux capacitor and slammed it into a knackered Ford Ka (it was as much as the
budget allowed) to zip forward to August 2012, and this is what we found.
