Chelsea Can Go Back To The Office…

English Premier league 07 November @ 02:07 PM EST

Because with live in a world of litigation and because people get all bent out of shape over the smallest things (that could easily be explained) and because litigation takes forever and lawyers are expensive (otherwise they wouldn't bother to take forever) and because you can get any kind of suspension lifted while you're waiting for an appeal it appears that Chelsea can do business as usual since the Court of Arbitration for Sport won't be able to set a date for a hearing until February.

English Premier league 25 October @ 06:15 AM EST

99.9% of the time I write about Premier League football on this site, but today I wanted to write about another type of football that will be showcasing its skills across the pond this Sunday at 1:00 PM Eastern U.S. time. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the New England Patriots in an NFL football game played in England today in what has become the annual NFL England match of the season.

Middle Classed Out

That's On Point 28 September @ 09:00 AM EST
The other day I was reading something about the historic 19-year ineptitude of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The once proud Bucs, who can recall a rich history dating back to the 1800s and fielding such all-time greats like Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente and Mike Lavalliere, aka Spanky, are now the undisputed laughingstock of North American pro sports, especially since the Detroit Lions snapped their Click to continue reading...

Tampa's World Cup Bid

Against The Run Of Play 04 August @ 02:07 PM EST
Some interesting comments about Tampa's quest to host a World Cup match or two in 2018 or 2022 can be found in the St Petersburg Times.
Much of the article talks about how much better Raymond James is than the old Tampa Stadium, which was the facility that the Bay area tried to secure a 1994 host slot. Click to continue reading...

Monday Missives

kenn.com 18 May @ 03:37 PM EST

  • Women's Professional Soccer's expansion team is apparently going to be called the Independence (now when they play the Freedom, can Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck be far behind?

No Joshin’

kenn.com 26 April @ 02:51 PM EST

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up to pick Kansas State quarterback Josh Freeman in the first round of the NFL Draft yesterday - a move met with some derision around Buc Nation, apparently.

Look - sure, there are plenty of needs on this team. One of them is - and has been for a while - the quarterback position.
