100 Percent Soccer 19 November @ 08:11 PM EST

The 2-1 overtime loss means Sacramento State, making their first tournament appearance, plays UCLA at 5 p.m. Sunday at Drake Stadium (in a game masterfully scheduled against the Galaxy's MLS Cup appearance).

In a good omen for next season, however, LMU will return 14 of the 19 players who suited up in the NCAA Tournament game.

TFC introduces Preki as new coach for 2010

mistake by the lake (for now) 19 November @ 10:34 AM EST
It would be foolish to have too strong an opinion either way on the hiring of the new TFC coach. What he has done in the past may be a foundation, but right now Preki puts a face on the 2010 season and the countdown has begun.

The Wizard of Westwood turns 99

MIKE JACOBS 15 October @ 08:29 PM EST
John Wooden just celebrated his 99th birthday, and ESPN's Rick Reilly sat down with the coaching legend recently.
I like going to Wooden's house for the same reason people like going to church: It makes me want to be a better man.
The last time he swore? 1924. The last time he drank alcohol? Click to continue reading...
