All the talk was about the thrilling 3-3 draw between Chelsea and Manchester United. The Red
Devils' powers of recovery were once again apparent when they had looked down and out following a
four-minute blitz by Chelsea.
Everyone remarked that only Manchester United is capable of coming back and clinching a draw from
the jaws of defeat.
There should be quite a few transfers in the Premier League over the next week, and Liverpool fans
will be hoping to see some new blood at Anfield, especially up front. Things are quiet at the
moment, but last week, Bruce Grobbelaar revealed that Liverpool were tracking a Holland-based
Uruguayan striker.
Reports doing the rounds suggest that Liverpool are in the market looking to buy a striker to
bloster their attack. The Reds have been linked with Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe who Liverpool
manager Kenny Dalglish is willing to offer £10 million to acquire.
However a tug of war is emerging between Tottenham and Defoe with Redknapp set on keeping him at
White Hart Lane while Defoe is bent on leaving after already telling his agent that he wants to
move in this transfer window.
Liverpool is on the verge of signing a new striker, according to legendary goalkeeper Bruce
Grobbelaar.
Liverpool struggled to hit the net again this weekend with a 0-0 draw at home to Stoke and have
scored just eight goals in their last nine Premier League games. With Luis Suarez suspended for
eight games, strikers Dirk Kuyt and Andy Carroll have come under pressure to perform but Carroll
has only scored twice this season, while Kuyt has yet to break his drought.

Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar claims that Kenny Dalglish will definitely sign a striker during
the January transfer window. In an interview with TalkSport earlier today, Grobelaar tantalisingly
hinted that Liverpool are interested in signing TWO strikers in the Jnauary transfer window:"There
are two strikers [Liverpool are interested in].

Lionel Richie? I was going for Craig Johnston meets Bruce Grobbelaar...
This hasn't been the best of periods for Liverpool FC, certainly in terms of PR. With the club
tying itself in all kinds of knots over the Luis Suarez affair, and then Anfield legend Alan Hansen
getting lambasted for his out-dated use of the word "coloured", it's been a heck a few weeks for
the club.
Following the un-timely death of former Liverpool title winning defender Gary Ablett (46), we've
decided to track down the where abouts of the Merseyside clubs last title winning squad in
1989-90.
Bruce Grobbelaar (54): Liverpool's most famous keeper currently resides in
Canada and sometimes appears as a pundit on Norwegian TV channel TV-2.

The official Liverpool FC website recently ran a poll asking fans to vote on the club's greatest
ever goalkeeper. Given the fact many modern fans are seemingly incapable of considering things
objectively, or within the proper historical context, it came as no surprise that Pepe Reina was
voted in at no 1, ahead of the likes of Ray Clemence and Bruce Grobbelaar, who won 11 league titles
and 4 European Cups between them.
Liverpool legend Phil Neal won an astonishing 4 European Cups as a player at Anfield, and he played
alongside some fantastic goalkeepers, including Ray Clemence and Bruce Grobbelaar. Clearly, he
knows a good keeper when he sees one, and Pepe Reina is no exception.
Speaking on LFC TV, Neal paid a glowing tribute to Liverpool's shot-stopper:
"He's the best goalkeeper in the Premiership, and for Spain.

Liverpool's 4-3 win against Newcastle United at Anfield in 1996 It remains a seminal game in
English football, full of end-to-end action and utter drama.
At the weekend, the two clubs came together once more, to recreate that classic game all for
the sake of a number of fabulous charities including the NSPCC, CHUF, Alan Shearer Centre, Sir
Bobby Robson Foundation and NE Children's Charity Pathways.

former teammate and manager. Photo: Andrew PageIn a recent interview with the official LFC site,
Grobbelaar gave his thoughts on how things changed at Anfield in the immediate aftermath of King
Kenny's return to the hotseat:"I've said it for two years now, the only person who could lift this
place is
One of the most memorable seasons in recent times just has to be 1994/95: It was a crazy year in
many ways and one which saw Jurgen Klinsmann arrive and the advent of a bizarre 4-1-5
formation.
There are many great memories from that season and one of these took place at the Dell, where
mutual loathing between Southampton and Spurs fans was still a few years away.

Richard Keys has sparked more outrage by accusing Liverpool fans of seeking revenge before the
Heysel Stadium disaster.
Richard Keys suggested the ugly riot that left 39 Juventus fans dead was part of a payback for
beatings Liverpool fans took from Roma fans.
Tragedy struck when a wall collapsed as fans clashed before the 1985 European Cup Final at the

Jamie Carragher will equal Emlyn Hughes's club record of 45 appearances in the competition if he
figures in tonight's Europa League clash with SC Braga at Anfield. Here are all the rest of the big
match stats.

Liverpool's record in Fairs/UEFA Cup/Europa League: Pld 116 Won 64 Drawn 28 Lost 24
The Reds have won 7 and drawn 1 of the previous 9 meetings with Portuguese opponents at Anfield.
Liverpool's Pepe Reina has shrugged off claims that he is the club's best-ever goalkeeper.
It has been suggested that Reina, 28, is better than club legends such as Ray Clemence, Bruce
Grobbelaar and Tommy Lawrence.
Reina has picked up four out of the last five golden gloves - the award given for the most Premier
League clean sheets every season - and also set a club record when he recorded 100 clean sheets in
just 198 appearances.
There have been few, if any, managers in the history of the British game who could match Bob
Paisley's genius in spotting players. The man who built three Champions' Cup winning teams did so
not by outspending others but by identifying before anyone else players with the talent to play in
his sides.
It's a glorious FA Cup weekend in England, so it's apt that for this week's Friday Flashback
Video series that we go back in the time machine to 1985 when Liverpool and Manchester United
battled in the FA Cup Semi-Final.
The first video features the first semi-final between the two, which ended in a draw and had to
be replayed (shown in the second video).
