Between season 2000-01 and 2006-07, Manchester United went through their bleakest spell since the
introduction of the Premier League. To finish runners up twice and in third position three
times...

Once more, it's a tale of Manchester United shooting themselves in the foot. Such talent oozing
from the walls of Old Trafford, but thus far this season, United have failed to produce the desired
results on the road. United are uncharacteristically chucking goals (and points) left and right
and that worrying trend shows no sign of abating, given the result at Bolton.
Firstly, welcome back Mark Halsey, after a tough seven months he has his whistle in his pocket
and he's back where he should be.
Another must win game tonight and it's another tricky one too. Hull City are a funny old side
really, led by a man who looks as if he been ‘Tangoed' and should be seen only in the local
discotheque with his ear/mouthpiece!
Hull 1 Arsenal 2.. (Arsenal win on away goals).
It's getting to the stage where we can scrap the team coach and hire a mini bus to take our fit
players to away games. We are savaged with injuries, which as usual the media choose to forget.
A lot of the pundits are knocking Bendtner, even after the infamous Porto "hat trick" and 6 goals
in the last 5 starts and in his favoured position at last.
An opinion piece appeared in The Daily Mirror this week in which some interesting points were made
with regards to the possible revamp being planned by Sir Alex Ferguson for Manchester United.
It...

While Manchester United were cruising to a 5-2 defeat of Scunthorpe with an entirely different
starting line up to that used against Liverpool on Sunday, ten other Premier League clubs were

Amos 6 Needs to learn to command his area during set pieces, but that will come with experience
and confidence.
Brown 7 for the first half. 5 for the second half when he was run ragged by Matt Jarvis.
Smalling 7 Composed on the ball and always looks for a forward pass.
Marin McDermott scored twice in regulation as Penn women's team tops Brown 3-2 in overtime.
Ursula Lopez Palm scored the winning goal for Penn.
Penn men's soccer tops Brown, 1-0. Freshman forward Stephen Baker scored his eighth goal of the
season.
Both games were played Saturday evening at Rhodes Field.
Van der Sar 6 Not much to do. Despite Wolves' spirited performance, they didn't test him
often.
Brown 5 Struggled against Matt Jarvis again.
Ferdinand 6 Slightly off the pace.
Vidic 5 Terrrible at times. Needs to pull his finger out.
Evra 7 Still not back to his best form, but showing signs of improvement, especially in an
attacking sense.
Van der Sar 7 Hardly worked at all, but one excellent save from a Tevez free kick stood out.
Rafael 7 Looks to have nailed down the right back position. Another good performance before
injury forced him off.
Vidic 8 Dominant alongside Ferdinand.
Ferdinand 8 City never stood a chance with him and Vidic at their best.
That horrendous run of injuries which gave Sir Alex Ferguson so many nightmares this time last year
are rearing their ugly head once again. Out of the 25 player squad Sir Alex selected at the...

The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the
kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going
out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.
Danny Blanchflower, Spurs and Northern Ireland captain.
