sponsor.

On Wednesday 23rd April, Espanyol asserted their intention of survival in the
Spanish Primera Division by overcoming fellow relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon
to rise within one point of the safe haven which is 17th position. Across the Atlantic,

On a weekend where numerous Americans were up for hardware, two came away victorious while one
suffered a heart-breaking loss.
Midfielders DaMarcus Beasley and Maurice Edu did not dress in the Scottish Cup final, but both
ended the season with more hardware as Rangers defeated Falkirk 1-0 on Saturday, exactly six days
after winning the Scottish Premier League.

Amongst the midweek action, Carlos Bocanegra and Rennes reached the Coupe de France final after
defeating Grenoble 1-0 on Tuesday. Bocanegra, who typically plays left back for the French club,
played centrally in the game that saw Rennes reach the cup final for the first time in 38
years.
The Premier League is arguably the greatest league in the world today, with the ability to
attract the best players from the continent.
But which transfers stand out as the most important signings with regards to their value for
money and the success they have brought to the club.
10: Peter Schmeichel
Brondby to Man Utd, £500,000
Quite simply the Premier League's finest goalkeeper.
With Rangers getting closer and closer to almost becoming Leeds United, maybe its time for both
Celtic and Rangers to run away from the Scottish Premier League and head for greener pastures.
Rangers 's club's bankers Lloyds are owed £30million by the end of the campaign. With a TV
contract that is nothing to celebrate the only way that they maybe be able to meet the payment is
to sell half of the first team.
According to Yanks Abroad, Robbie Findley's trial with Brondby is over and he will be returning to
RSL without an offer. That's not to say he didn't impress them though, having scored two goals in
their friendly match on Sunday.
So the good news for RSL fans is that he's staying..........

Richard Eckersley has joined Burnley on a four year deal. The 20-year-old defender rejected a
contract from Manchester United, fancying his chances of getting in the newly promoted Burnley's
team next season.
The Salford lad is the younger brother of Adam who left the club last year, after spending four
years on loan at Port Vale, Brondby and Barnsley.
There are strong rumours coming out of Denmark tonight that former Toronto FC winger Rohan Ricketts
is on his way to Odense BK of the Danish Superliga. Ricketts, who was released by the Canadian MLS
side in June, arrived on trial at the club today, with a club source saying he impressed the
coaching side.
Getting arrested in the public spotlight is harrowing enough. Doing your penance in public, on
national television, in the game of the week? A draconian punishment to say the least, and one
probably befitting the crime. FC Midtjylland's Polish keeper Arek Onyszko was arrested and
convicted of slapping around his ex-wife back in June (this, presumably, [.
