Chest bump

In the end, a point was all we took home from Britannia Stadium. The most despicable place on Earth (that's saying a lot considering my contempt of this place call Shite Hart Lane) where education was never taught to these people and the still use fire as their form of light source.

Clint Dempsey and Fulham got three away points at an unlikely place, finally beating Liverpool at Anfield 1-0. Liverpool scored Fulham's goal, putting the ball in the back of their own net in the 5th minute. Both teams finished with four shots on goal, but Liverpool needed 21 tries to Liverpool's 10.

So unfortunately for Bolton Wanderers there status in the Premier League has come down to this, a match at the Britannia stadium in which they need to pick up 3 points, bound to be a tall order for a side that has struggled for consistency in the league.

Stoke City have nothing to play for in this match, so at least thats one positive for Owen Coyle's Bolton side, so they may have thoughts elsewhere perhaps on there pre-season holidays.

Stoke City 2-2 Bolton Wanderers Premier League 20th May 2012

A late penalty from Irish striker Jonathan Walters doomed Bolton to (at least) a season in the Championship after the Trotters could only draw at the Britannia Stadium.

Poor Peter Crouch. It was no secret that he and Capello never always saw eye to eye so the Stoke striker must have been jumping for joy when the Italian resigned with months to go until Euro 2012.

The journeyman forward soon stepped up his form, netting a goal of the season contender against eventual Premier League champions Manchester City at Britannia Stadium, volleying in from 25 yards.

Premier League bad boy Joey Barton was recently handed a lengthy 12-match ban by the FA for his violent antics during the denouement of last season.

Manchester City became champions of the English top flight, for the first time in 44 years, after overcoming a struggling QPR side at the Etihad Stadium following the dismissal of Rangers skipper Barton.
