Good bargain hunting from Mr. Pulis
Stoke City have completed the double signing of Robert Huth and Tuncay Sanli from
Middlesbrough for a combined fee in the region of £11million. (Sky Sports)
As we reported earlier today, it can now be confirmed that Tony Pulis has indeed raided the
Riverside for two very decent signings for a relatively small fee.
Cruel on Stoke as Florent Malouda scores a very late winner at the Britannia.

It's Ask the Oppo time again and this week Carl Eldridge talks to Molineux regular Peter Hayes
ahead of the Gunners' trip to Wolves in the Premier League...
CE: Wolves are back on the big stage after such a long and painful period so life in the top
flight must be enjoyable?
PH; Yes it certainly has been a journey supporting the Wolves over the years and yes we are
loving it, it really is the place to be.

To Anfield, where football was not the most important thing on the agenda for once. Paying
respect to those who sadly lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster, 20 years ago this
Wednesday, was at the forefront of everyone's mind. A minute‘s silence, impeccably observed. What
followed was fitting; a comprehensive feast of flowing football saw Liverpool
sweep Blackburn aside with ease.
Fergie to Ronaldo: "You can't get everything your own way."
I thought at first it was a late April fool, but Alex Ferguson has at last acknowledged what we
all knew already – that Ronaldo can behave like a petulant brat.
It was obviously OK to let him behave like that when United were winning - but his sloppiness in
possession and failure to track back has directly led to goals conceded against Villa and Porto
recently.
Stoke City may be a small club, but that never seems to faze them when they walk out in front of
the crowd at The Britannia. Saturday was no different.
Chelsea was visiting, and they brought their undefeated record with them, too. Stoke was ready
for a battle, though. It's pretty hard to describe how different Stoke is as a team when they are
playing at home.
After the Hull game back in August I wrote a brief post questioning why it takes so long to
queue to get through the turnstiles at Stamford Bridge. That day it took me half an hour to get
from the Britannia Gate to my seat, and I missed the first 12 minutes of the Spurs game on Sunday
despite joining the one of the queues into the Matthew Harding Lower at 3.

It was a bad week for West Ham. In the wake of the Battle at Boleyn, the English Football
Association had decided to charge West Ham with four offences and the club has 14 days to respond
to these charges. Hopefully the punishment will be justified rather than just an publicity attempt
by the FA chairman to set an example.
Wolves will host Aston Villa this week at the Molineux this Saturday on ESPN2 (for all of you US
viewers) in what should prove to be a hard fought match between two local rivals. This big derby
match-up will aim to please a near-capacity crowd that will be flooding into the Molineux.

Team News:
- Manager Mick McCarthy will be hoping his team shuts down Richard Dunne as he tried to sign him
over the summer.
Evening, campers.
Perhaps noteworthy, tomorrow will see the loudest two sets of fans come head to head for the
first time this season. According to those poindexters with the clipboards and ear horns, Stoke and
Tottenham emit the highest level of decibels from their respective strongholds; with Stoke ahead by
a whisper.
Stoke City and Wigan played out an entertaining draw at the Britannia where Hugo Rodallega
missed a last gasp penalty.

Birmingham's best of the best. The Second city of the United Kingdom can lay
claim to two of the hottest teams in the land. Birmingham City lead the way with 6 wins
and 2 ties from their last 8 matches including a home draw to leaders Chelsea and more
recently a hard-fought one-nil scalp of Stoke at the Britannia.
