Fulham manager Roy Hodgson maintains there has been no contact from Arsenal over

A home win tomorrow against Bristol Rovers will see one-time former English Premier League club
Leeds United promoted from League One (the third tier of English soccer) to the Championship. In
the meantime, Leeds United have launched its Macron 2010/11 home kit. According to Leeds' website:

We'll soon officially announce that we've acquired Australian forward Danny Allsopp. The
31-year old has an impressive resume, having played at the highest level for Manchester City in
England. He most recently played with Qatar's Al-Rayyan and previously spent 4+ seasons with
Australia's Melbourne Victory, where he won a scoring title (2006-07) and helped the team to two
Grand Final championships.
You've see the film The Damned United, or read the book by David Peace that inspired it. The
question that remains is, to what extent has the outspoken, charismatic and often times hilarious
manager left a lasting impression on you?
For me, Clough embodies what I think of when I imagine English football in the 60's and 70's and
he remains a true legend in the game.
Wycombe's manager for the 2010/11 season is Ex-Republic of Ireland Midfielder Gary
Waddock (48).
Waddock made 21 appearances for the Boy's in Green, scoring 3 times between 1980-90, he would
probably doubled his appearances for the Republic only for a knee injury after which he spent over
a year on the sidelines in 1985.
Hartlepool United's two all draw with Bristol Rovers on Saturday may not have elicited a second
glance from football fans across the UK as the score appeared on Grandstand's videprinter (they
still do that, right?). However, it was an interesting match for a fantastic reason. In the 76th
minute James Poole entered the pitch to make his debut for Pools.
Rendell who hit Wycombe hat-trick
Wycombe's run in this seasons Johnstones Paint Trophy came to an abrupt end last night as they
were crushed 6-3 by Bristol Rovers.
Rover's accuracy in front of goal was far superior than their opponents, which in the end was
their catalyst for their win, with possession equally shared throughout the match it was the
finishing that counted at the end.
In last month's print edition of When Saturday Comes, the ever reliable Roger Titford analyzed the
pros and cons of sharing one's ground with purveyors of the oval ball. The piece sounds a note of
warning: my fellow blogger Scarf is rightly incandescent at Stockport's unequal alliance with Sale
Sharks and if Reading's relationship with London Irish is better, there is still unease among the
LONDON, England — Manchester United's bid to maintain their position on the top of the Premier
League with victory at Blackpool on Saturday has been scuppered by the freezing temperatures in
England. United are two points clear of second placed Chelsea but they may lose first place after
their game was postponed as a result [.
Reading insist they have had no contact from Liverpool over Adam Federici despite reports last week
linking the keeper with a £2million move to Anfield.
Royals' caretaker manager Brian McDermott said that his 24-year-old keeper won't be affected by the
speculation when the two teams meet in an FA Cup third-round replay tonight.
Arguably the best ever player to play for Stevenage has rejected the chance to re-join the club
nearly 13 years after he left the club for Bristol Rovers. Hayles went on to play in the Premier
League with Fulham as well as successful spells at Millwall, Plymouth Argyle and Leicester City. He
is currently with League 2 side Cheltenham Town, as the 37 year old veteran striker begins to wind
down his career.
As we all know Tottenham have many dedicated fans, but few are more dedicated than Morris
Keston, a fan so devoted to the mighty Spurs that a book is due to be published about his amazing
life.
The biography of Morris Keston is entitled Superfan! and it's author is the writer and fellow
Tottenham fan, Nick Hawkins.
Jemal Johnson looks to make it three goals in as many games when Stockport County travel to Bristol
on Tuesday to take on Bristol Rovers at Memorial Stadium.
Jemal Johnson was pulled off during Stockport County's defeat at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening
after the American winger injured a leg muscle in the first half.
Jemal Johnson has been ruled out of the Stockport County squad for the next two to three weeks
after straining his hamstring during Stockport's 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers last Tuesday.

The performance of Bobby Zamora under Roy Hodgson particularly have been stellar. The marked
improvement in his game have led to numerous calls for an England call up. If the thoughts were
that Zamora does not have the big match mentality then those reservations would have been smashed
to bits after stunning goals against Juventus and Wolfsburg in the Europa League.

Having suffered a bore draw against Citeh and witnessing the horrid injury suffered by Given, I
thought I would write about Citeh's number two keeper....
No no, not soon to be Gooner Joe Hart, but old has been Gooner Stuart Taylor....
I liked him, always thought he would be the next David Seaman, he looked assured, played with
confidence, but sadly, like so many players since the arrival of Arsene Wenger, he didn't really
get his chance in my opinion.

The pacey winger enjoyed six loan spells, at six different clubs, during his five-year tenure at

Bristol Rovers in 2005, but never really put it all together.

Bradford City's Simon Ramsden fires a freekick over the Nottingham Forest wall
A busy night of League Cup action yesterday, with some notable results: Shrewsbury beat Charlton
4-3, having been 3-0 down, whilst Leicester also came out on the right side of a seven-goal
thriller, at home against Macclesfield.
Welcome to the review of this weeks League Two action. After a fantastic opening weekend
featuring 25 goals and plenty of action it was a more sombre second weekend in League Two featuring
only 15 goals. The fixtures this weekend seemed to be matching teams of very similar ambitions and
calibers and it showed, especially in the five 0-0's which will be covered in more detail
later.

A great second week to League One has seen 31 goals scored in the 10 fixtures this week and
plenty of incidents and action to get ourselves stuck into.
As we will do regularly we start with the League One news:
- The football world was saddened by the news of 2 deaths this week.
Supporters of the team from Bristol's northern half had a good time in the mid-to-late nineties as
they witnessed their side hit the third tier play-offs twice, but it hasn't half been a lean past
10 years or so. Given the club's pretty miserable recent history, the majority of which has been
spent in the Football League's basement, it's no wonder that the oft-told legend of the formidable

Beckford scores against Bristol Rovers to send Leeds up to the Championship.
Leeds United has a complicated history with its fan base. There are only a handful of
supporters that have experienced the type of turmoil that Leeds fans have over the years –
particularly in recent times. Fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield Wednesday has put its supporters
through the ringer, as the Owls recently passed Leeds on the way down to the third tier of English
football.

Although my predictions of new signings before the Huddersfield game proved incorrect, we are

Exeter are yet to win this season in the league although they are still undefeated at home with
a couple of draws against Bristol Rovers and Colchester so it's not going to be an easy game.
Chairman goes from saint to sinner overnight On Tuesday, Southampton lost 3-0 at home in the

has lost his job as manager, [.
