Lots of action for the U.S. internationals abroad this past weekend, so let's get country hopping.
Clint Dempseypotted his ninth goal in league play this season and tenth overall when he pulled Fulham level at
2-2 with Aston Villa.
Michael Bradley, who had only one training session with his
new club prior to the match, did not dress.
There's a report out today that Newcastle are interested in Bristol City's Nicky Maynard Nicky
Maynard are Newcastle really interested? The report suggests that manager Alan Pardew is ready to
offer Bristol £4.5m plus Leon Best for the player. So if Best is worth around £4M, we would offer
£8.5M for a lower league [.
Walking the plank?
I don't really like Bristol Rovers. As a Bristol City fan, that's not really that surprising. I
don't like their kit, their players, their ever-changing roll of managers, and I especially don't
like their branding of themselves as Bristol's "Friendly Club", despite the fact they attract only
a third of City's fanbase, and sold their old stadium to Ikea.
Giovanni Trapattoni has been hit with a number of injury pull-outs prior to Wednesday night's
friendly international against Croatia in Dublin.
Everton winger Seamus Coleman left Goodison Park on crutches on Friday night, and while Ireland can
withstand losing players for this week's game, Trapattoni won't want to be losing players for the
key games in September against Slovakia and Russia.

- QPR's Last FA Cup Win - about Ten Managers Ago: Match Report!
As the third round of the FA Cup kicked off yesterday I wondered to myself if it was as special
as it used to be. Many people have said over the last 15 years or so that the FA Cup has lost some
of the magic it once had and I can't really argue with that. When I was younger, this time of year
was as exciting as the final itself, the beginning of what you hope would end with your team at
Wembley in the final game of the season lifting the most famous club cup trophy of them all.
Preston North End have clinched the signing of Fulham striker Eddie Johnson on loan. The
American international has found playing time hard to come by at Craven Cottage, and his loan move
to PNE represents a chance to prove himself in England.
"He has been renowned for goalscoring at many levels," PNE boss Phil Brown said of his new
loanee.

A month ago, three young Americans found themselves on the bench of their respective clubs,
which ultimately helped facilitate loan moves as they searched for more playing time.
Those three Americans made their debuts this weekend.
Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and Eric Lichaj all received their first appearance for their new
clubs.

Robbie Findley had to wait longer than he would have liked, but he finally made his debut abroad
this weekend.
Having fully recovered from a thigh injury picked up in February, Findley made his first
appearance for Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
While one Real contending for their regional Champions League suffered a major setback
at home yesterday, the other saw their dream end completely. Real Salt Lake are not whining about
their defeat in the same way as their Spanish inspiration from Madrid are busy doing, but they
still have a bitter pill to swallow after a 1-0 defeat at home to Monterrey resulted in a 3-2
defeat on aggregate in the Concacaf Champions League final and an end to their 37 game unbeaten
streak at home.

Steven Caulker is a man in demand at the moment with Premiership new boys Swansea City the
latest to make an enquiry about the young defender. While Bristol City were keen to take him back
for next season, it is widely felt that the player is ready to take the step up to Premiership
football.
It's perhaps unfair to blame all the miseries of one club on one man, and Kris Boyd's improvement
in fortunes on swapping the red of Teesside for Trentside only heaps further ignominy on Project
Strachan; but the disjunct between the reputation of a man with 174 goals plundered north of
Hadrian's Wall and the miserable nature of his performances for Boro was startling.
Leroy Lita could be making a move back to the Premier League after top flight newcomers Swansea
reportedly agreed to a £1.7m fee with Middlesbrough.
The Congolese-born striker has spent time in the Premier League before, where he started strong
in Reading's first season in the Premier League back in 2006 but soon found himself out of
favor.
Who's Looking Good?
Leicester: Having massively overhauled the squad during the summer, signing no
less than nine players, including the marquee signings of Kasper Schmeichel, David Nugent, Michael
Johnson, Neil Danns and Paul Konchesky should give the Foxes the quality needed to reach the
Premiership for the first time since 2002.
London burns
Football just took a hit with England calling off the Netherlands friendly due to the riots.
Carling Cup matches at Charlton, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bristol City have been postponed too.
Now the Premiership opening fixtures in London hang in the balance as an overstretched police force
is deployed to combat the viral nature of these riots.
Woah now, it took us until February to do a loaner report last season, yet here we are with one
barely into the second week of August. And I've got a feeling we may be seeing many more of
these.
David Stockdale started, played 90 minutes, and made 6 saves in Ipswich Town's
3-0 win at Bristol City on Saturday.
Cardiff City Midfielder Peter Whittingham has backed young attacking midfielder Joe Mason to force
his way into the Bluebirds' starting XI after his stunning display against Bristol City.
Mason's mix of direct running and vision inspired the home side to a 3-1 win after coming off the
bench to replace the injured Aron Gunnarsson at the Cardiff City Stadium.

All-Time Premier League Top Scorers - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Who are the all-time top goalscorers in the Premier League? Which Premier League players have
scored 100 goals or more? Who has scored the most goals in each Premier League season? And who is
the top Premier League scorer this season?
Scot has worked wonders on the tightest of budgets It has been a busy old season in the
Championship. Before football had even started, six managers were starting their career with new
clubs. Incredibly, since August ten more managers have left clubs, from the Steve Coppell debacle
at Bristol City to Sheffield United having three [.
