It is hard to take positives from a game in which you throw away a 3-1 lead in the final ten
minutes but Preston should be encouraged by the majority of their performance. Winger Keith Treacy
was outstanding.
As for Burnley, they were limp, lacklustre and completely reliant on the brilliance of Chris
Iwelumo.
Watford hit 6
Perhaps the most important conclusion to draw from Watford's improbable 6-1 win at the Den is
that this league retains a crazily unpredictable edge. It's also about time Malky Mackay's Watford
side lose their label of plucky underdogs. This is a side with talent, although probably not
enough to sustain a charge for the play-offs.
