Barca continues to party as the entire team gathered for their treble celebration dinner at the
Grand Hotel La Florida. Bojan was the first to arrive on the scene, followed shortly by Vic, Puyol,
Yaya and Titi. The rest of the team came soon after, and Samu was the very last one to make his
appearance.
In the last ten days, we've been focusing on Brilliant Orange! And what a news we had... But let's
quickly drum up all the news items we missed from other Dutch football topics... Fred Rutten is out
at Schalke and will be the new PSV coach. Dwight Lodeweges, currently in charge and
John's leading a good discussion of the CONCACAF away goals rule over in the comments of his post.
Both John and Jasonma had me going "Yeah, that makes sense" over equal and opposite arguments, so
we can correctly conclude that I have nothing helpful to add. But maybe you do. I no longer wish to
throttle Mark Rogondino for screwing up the rules - it's understandable that he thought the
Islanders had an effective two-goal advantage, because if that goal had happened in regulation they
would have.
Meta: I'll be away until Monday, which is really quite handy given the transfer window's just
closed and it's an international break. I will miss the three-year anniversary of this blog
tomorrow, but that's no great shakes. Here's a book review to hold you over. Don't break
anything.
