Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace - The thoughts of Kevin Day.... Brighton entertain their
fiercest rivals Crystal Palace tomorrow for the first time in six years. European Football Weekends
has one foot in the Brighton camp. On the other side of the fence is Match of the Day 2 regular,
Kevin Day.
Regular readers of this site will be all too aware of the recent problems that have beset
Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Plymouth's supporters, in conjunction with whose of Brighton & Hove
Albion, are now planning a protest on the twenty-fourth of September to which supporters of all
clubs will be welcome.
Things went horribly, horribly wrong on Sunday, but we've already covered that. Perhaps it
doesn't come as a huge surprise, though, that a lot of the places that talk Liverpool have gone a
touch quiet following their obligatory (and rather depressed) match reviews in the wake of Sunday's
sad showing at Spurs.

All of a sudden, the Carling Cup trip to Brighton and Hove Albion looks a great deal more important
than it once did.
Liverpool will of course be desperate to stay in the hunt for silverware this season, especially
with no European football on offer.
But equally importantly, it is a chance to produce an immediate reaction to two disappointing
league results.
Brighton's new Falmer Stadium... Liverpool travel to the home of the seagulls tomorrow for their
league cup fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion. Promoted from league one last season, the
seaside club are finding themselves in a bit of good form. The Reds on the other hand will be
looking to quickly forget about their embarrassing defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on the
weekend and

Kenny Dalglish said he was going to field a strong side for tonight's match against Brighton and
Hove Albion and he's certainly not picked a weak one. Injuries and suspensions meant he would have
to make at least three changes – Daniel Agger is injured with Martin Skrtel and Charlie Adam
suspended – but he's also made a couple of further changes.

All is not lost as Brighton find a way forward under Poyet
Ultimately they lost, but it can no longer be said of Brighton and Hove Albion that they are
lost. Two years ago this week the Seagulls were 19th in League One.

Liverpool came out firing, looking to put doubts to rest in the wake of Sunday's shambolic visit
to White Hart Lane—or, for the players who had been left out against Tottenham, perhaps
attempting to show the manager that they were more deserving of starting roles.
Bellamy scores his first goal back in a Liverpool shirt... It was end to end stuff last night in
Brighton as Gus Poyet's boys looked to cause an upset for Liverpool. An inspired performance from
Brighton was threatening to take the game from the Reds on several occasions but in the end the
home side had to settle for a consolation goal from the penalty spot.
