We're going a long long way babyEFW are delighted to bring you the Fat Boy Slim World Cup Tour Diary which will be written by
our new signing - Charlton Athletic fan Stuart Mair. He'll be accompanying Norman and pals to South
Africa:Planet Football is definitely in our orbit.
After playing last season with Ipswich Town F.C. of the English Championship, American winger
Devann Yao is currently on a trial with Brighton and Hove Albion FC of England's League One.
He's British. He's quick. He's strong. And he's in the form of his career. Nope, I'm not talking
about Wayne Rooney.
I'm talking Bobby Zamora. Yes, Zamora, of all strikers. Our former Funny Feeling Friday has never
really had the best Premier League goalscoring record (though he did score an amazing 83 times in
136 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion in the lower leagues), and he's never had an England
National Team call up, but perhaps he deserves one.
You've see the film The Damned United, or read the book by David Peace that inspired it. The
question that remains is, to what extent has the outspoken, charismatic and often times hilarious
manager left a lasting impression on you?
For me, Clough embodies what I think of when I imagine English football in the 60's and 70's and
he remains a true legend in the game.

As my good friend Larry pointed out in Part 1 those of us fortunate enough to have been born in
Sussex during the Albion's halcyon days grew up to hate our neighbours from Surrey (they're not a
proper London club , the Nigels , are they?) with a passion.
Category C, You're Havin' a LaughBrighton 1-1 FC United of Manchester (27:11:10)Brighton and Hove Albion have three options when it comes to attracting the eye of the national
press; Flirt with extinction - and be rescued by tireless efforts of its supporters, race clear at
the top of League One with a colourful boss at the helm - and a shiny new stadium to move into, or
draw FC United of Manchester in the FA Cup.

- Pompey or Coventry City v Sunderland
- Preston North End v Chelsea
- Aston Villa v Brighton and Hove Albion
- Tranmere Rovers or Wolves v Crystal Palace

Not a bad draw for Newcastle, but it's another unkind away trip that we could have done
without.
Kazenga LuaLua has come out today and said he'd like to extend his loan spell at Brighton and Hove
Albion through the end of the season. Kazenga LuaLua wants to stay at Brighton It turns out the
Seagulls want to complete a deal with Newcastle United before next Monday, when the lad's current

I've penned 168 articles since EFW found its sorry way onto the interweb a couple of seasons ago.
You might find it a bit Ken Dodd that none of these have featured a Brighton home match at the
Withdean Stadium because for 30 years - man and boy - they were the love of my life.

I spent the years 1986 to around 1992 watching Brighton and Hove Albion pretty much every week home
and away For most of that time the team was pretty mediocre with a few highs but probably more lows
but that wasn't really the point.
On the wings of a sparrow...
It's a most unusual relationship. Perhaps an analogy will help. Think of the celebrity couple
Sophie Dahl and Jamie McCallum. One is glamorous, sleek, edgy, fashionable and popular; the other
is dumpy, bit strange looking and of appeal to a rather weird group of people.

Brighton, Bognor Regis, Eastbourne, Bank Holiday Monday - welcome to the Beautiful South. It was
like thumbing through a holiday brochure of coastal resorts. With Wembley Stadium fully booked,
this years Sussex Senior Cup Final took place at the home of Eastbourne Borough and was played out
between Brighton & Hove Albion Reserves and Bognor Regis Town.
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, commonly referred to as Brighton, are an English professional
association football club based in the coastal city of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex. They have
played in the Football League One, the third tier of the English football league system, since
their relegation from the Championship in 2006.
I used to sing some very nasty and childish things about our rivals Crystal Palace on the
terraces of the Goldstone Ground, Brighton and Hove Albion's home stadium until 1997. Now, from
4,000 miles away in Chicago, I take a particular dislike to harmless Crystal Palace Baltimore and
(if they survive their financial crisis) am still planning to make a one-man trip to Baltimore to
chant anti-Palace songs at one of their USSF D-II games this summer.

Guess Who's Been on Match of the Day?Kevin Day has magical powers. It has to be said that EFW isn't the greatest fan of the Premier
League, horse racing and moreover Crystal Palace. The fact that Day has taken that trio and turned
them into entertainment is a huge feather in a cap already bursting to capacity, and, worthy of 5
(five) FIFA stars.
The Friendly FiresBrighton 1-0 Aberdeen (31:07:10)Almost a year ago to this day, EFW - which is based in Brighton, well Hove actually - packed its
drinking boots and headed to Aberdeen. After reading, and eventually writing about their 'Red
Ultras' we were hooked.
There were some concerns today, that Brighton and Hove Albion's attempt to take 19 year-old
Kazenga LuaLua on loan from Newcastle, had again become uncertain. Kazenga LuaLua - while on loan
at Brighton last seaosn Apparently the Seagulls had expected LuaLua to travel south yesterday,
ready to complete the move this morning, but the player, who [.
Match Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker has come a long way since his TV appearances in
the early 1990s when he hosted a show entitled "Soccer In The 70′s." The former England and
Everton striker was, at the time, uncomfortable in front of the camera. And very stiff. Thankfully
he's improved over time, but it is interesting to take a look back at two excerpts from the
show.
