There's usually two schools of thought after particularly awful matches things could be so bad
that some swear off the football for awhile, the things they've seen never to unseen. Or there's
the view that another match can't come quickly enough, regardless of whether or not it promises
something better.

Carling Cup Third Round- 21 September, 2011- 19.
Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has been told that he must decide himself whether he is ready to
start a Premier League game.
The England international could return at the weekend in time for a derby day clash against Everton
after coming on in the last two Liverpool games against Brighton and Wolverhampton.
When it comes down to it, there are several categories which are splitting the Championship
equally. The resurgence of the newly promoted teams is wowing everybody and shows that you do not
have to spend large sums to get success. Unlike their Premier League counterparts, they do not have
millions to spare and could prove to be tricky.
Forget Arteta, Crouch, Barton or Bellamy. Surely the transfer of all transfers this summer was
Brighton's signing of Valencia legend Vicente Rodriguez on a free transfer last week!
Gus Poyet is exactly right to call this signing a "major coup" for the club which already sit
top, and needless to say undefeated, after six games in their first season in the Championship
since 2006.
I was recently looking through the club's results during Kenny Dalglish's first year as Manager of
Liverpool (1985/86), when I noticed a pattern appearing: Many of the results the club has achieved
in Dalglish's second spell at Anfield are identical to those achieved during 1985-86 season.
Carling Cup tickets update

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates in the wake of Sunday's
4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Merseyside giants were comprehensively outplayed at White Hart Lane and undermined their own
efforts to gain a foothold through indiscipline, with Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel both given
their marching orders for two bookable offences.
Liverpool duo Martin Skrtel and Charlie Adam will serve an automatic one match suspension after
they were both sent off on the weekend against Spurs.
Luckily for the reds they will miss the fourth round Carling Cup fixture against Brighton on
Wednesday and be available for selection next weekend.
Adam And Skrtel Ruled Out Of Cup Clash
Liverpool will face Championship outfit Brighton on Wednesday in the fourth round of the Carling
Cup, but unfortunately will have to play without Martin Skrtel and Midfielder Charlie Adam. Both

Liverpool in crisis? Hardly so.
The thing about teams in the spotlight is that two defeats (or merely not winning two
consecutive games) is taken as a sign that something is massively wrong). And usually what
separates the big teams from the wannabes in their ability to bounce back and carry on, regardless
of the barracking they take from the press and the opposition.
