Liam Bridcutt is another of those young players who have tried to make the break through at Chelsea
but never really made any sort of break through. Farmed out on loan during the later years at
Chelsea, Bridcutt was eventually released from the club this Summer.
Bridcutt tried to sort out a deal with another club after he was released but came into problems
for one reason or another.
After weeks of trialists, it seems that Graham Westley has finally found his man. Chris Holroyd
is the striker that the Boro boss hopes will be able to fire the Conference champions back up the
League 2 table. The Argus reports that Holroyd is set to sign for Stevenage on a 3 month loan deal
and that it should be finalised by Thursday evening.
Tim Sills: Rushden bound
It's been a busy day at Broadhall Way. It's almost like they've just found out how to put news
on the new site and it's all come at once. First came the confirmation of Chris Holroyd's loan
move that broke yesterday afternoon via Brighton's local paper. Holroyd has signed a 3 month deal
until Boxing Day and is in line to make his debut at Lincoln tomorrow.
Just a quick post as I don't get home until tomorrow. A more detailed report and some pictures
will be uploaded tomorrow evening.
Chris Holroyd's debut goal was enough to give Stevenage their first away win of the season. Boro
were solid at the back, dangerous going forward and totally deserved their victory.
Had most people in Britain cupped their ears in a southwardly direction at just before five
o'clock on Saturday afternoon, they would have heard the faint sound of cheering coming from the
Withdean stadium in Brighton. In the midst of a desperate, crazy goalmouth scramble, six minutes
into injury time at the end of a match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Oldham Athletic which was
deadlocked at 1-1, Francisco Sandaza, whose previous career exploits had seen him play for
Valencia's 'B' team and Dundee United, bundled the ball over the line to win the match for Brighton
and send the Seagulls to the top of the League One table.
The 19 year-old winger, on loan from Newcastle United through early January, hit home his second
goal of the season for Brighton at home, against bottom of the table Brentford, last night. Kazenga

Chris Holroyd
You may or may not have heard that your on loan striker Chris Holroyd has taken League 2 by
storm since joining Stevenage a week ago. Unfortunately, I can confirm that this isn't true and
that the goals he is "alleged" to have scored were in fact scored by Peter Vincenti.
I know that you wanted Chris to come here and get his confidence back after a bit of a lean
spell at Brighton, so we thought we would give Chris the credit for some of the goals we scored,
even though he didn't score them himself.
