I think it's fair to say that a fair few people on here who comment are becoming frustrated with
the selection of the team or should I say certain players week in, week out. They feel as though
these players are being selected based on who they are within the squad rather than their current
form. All I say in response to that is that we have only played three games so far, have made new
signings and the future looks alot brighter than it did a few weeks ago.
In the mid 1980s, Ian Rush became tantalisingly close to forming a mouth-watering strike
partnership with the legendary Diego Maradona at Napoli. Sounds like fiction, but it's actually
100% fact.
After scoring 108 goals in 174 games for Liverpool, winning three league championships in a row and
lifting the European Cup in Rome, Rush was tempted to leave Anfield for Napoli in 1984.
With the influx of new faces this summer at The Bridge, it was somewhat lost in the shuffle that
one of our January signings has secured his move to London earlier then previously anticipated.

So it's been confirmed, Piazon has officially signed his contract with the club and already
begun training with the first team.
...and if you thought it was going to be anyone speaking out at the Bridge, it would have been
someone from the Didier Drogba, John Terry old guard.
Torres, sour grapes on Chelsea
(New content coming shortly today sorry for the delays.)
I was surprised but impressed at the team selection first of all the other night. AVB has spoken of
the fact that he isn't afraid to rest/drop players and he did exactly that with Lampard on the
bench and JT not involved at all. Some people said it was a gamble at the time, but with the squad
we have it was a big thumbs up from me.
Apparently the signs and frigid reception at the Veltins Arena weren't quite the worst of Manuel
Neuer's homecoming delights. On the way out of the stadium, hanging from a bridge beneath which the
Bayern bus would pass, his ex-lovers (Schalke fans) strung up a mannequin of Neuer, which he
would've been forced to see.
Who loves ya, Manny Neuer? Schalke fans haven't gotten over the sudden transfer of goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich during the summer. They went to the trouble of demonstrating their
feelings toward their former number 1 by hanging an effigy of a goalkeeper in a Bayern shirt from
an Autobahn bridge before last Sunday's [.
This afternoon is an interesting game for me for many reasons. We all know AVB has said in previous
weeks that he wants to see his sides performances get better from week to week and I think we all
are looking for the same level of performance as we saw in the second half against United.
I am wondering if he will make 10 changes to the side that faced Fulham this week.
Ask a football fan what he thinks of Ashley Cole and you would have to agree that the majority of
opinion would be based on what he does outside of Chelsea away from the football pitch and wouldn't
be complimentary to say the least.
However, it's what Ashley Cole does on the football pitch week in, week out that deserves real
credit to him as a person and as a world class footballer.
