Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti's job is on the line after seen his team
drawing 3-3 at home to EPL strugglers Aston Villa after late
drama at the Bridge.
Swearing fun at the Bridge If Roman Abramovich thought ditching Ray Wilkins would give his bench a
friendlier appearance, he had accounted for Aston Villa's late equaliser in the 3-3 draw on Sunday.
Even the members of the supposedly fairer sex were giving the Blues' dugout a rough look at the end
of the match.
We all have had an opinion lately about who should and shouldn't be playing, who's been under
performing etc. So I am asking you the Chelsea fans to take a look at my selection and give your
views on the side you would pick and believe needs to start the game on Sunday.
Now before we consider our options we need to be aware that Ipswich have just sacked Roy Keane and
have injury problems.
If this game was taking place two months ago I think it's fair to say we would walk this game and
that is no disrespect to Ipswich in any way at all, in fact I think even their own fans would dread
the thought of taking on Chelsea.
However, it's a no lose situation for the Tractor Boys and it's Chelsea they have EVERYTHING to
lose today as we start our defence of the FA CUP.
Now I couldn't get to Chelsea to watch the game yesterday so decided to try and catch it on the
Internet and couldn't find it anywhere so had to rely on the BBC Website for their live news
updates. Nothing worse than not being at the game and just my luck we score seven!. I had to settle
for the highlights of the game (which were just the goals) on ITV late last night.
Now it may be complete rubbish and just word of mouth that has turned into Chinese Whispers, but
there is a rumour that is going around that Roman Abramovich will cut his ties with Chelsea and
sell up at the end of the season and look to re-invest his money in Zenit St Petersburg in
Russia.
Well all know and have seen Roman's commitment and joy at Russia being awarded the World Cup, and
it would make sense for him to look to be far more involved there but I just wonder if this really
is the case and he will sell.
In the Daily Mail is the continued rumours that involve Chelsea's reported interest in Benfica's
Brazilian Defender, David Luiz. We all know that Chelsea offered Benfica some money deemed
unacceptable by the Portuguese side, but it's believed that Chelsea are still in the hunt for the
player.
Now, if reports are to believed, Chelsea are prepared to offer around £21m for the player and in
addition Chelsea right back Paulo Ferreira who is valued at around £4m, taking the total fee to be
around £25m.
This article in the Star this morning quoted a "source" close to the player himself more or less
confirms what we all have been thinking about Chelsea's transfer policy as it stands these days.
Carlo doesn't really have a say.
This so called "source" is quoted as saying:
When Steven met Ancelotti he said very little and did not seem that bothered if he
signed or not.
Am I the only Chelsea fan around that calls to question a loan agreement between Chelsea and Fulham
for Gael Kakuta??. Firstly I can see from Mark Hughes and Fulham's point of view the reason as to
why they want to take him to the Cottage. Let's hold our hands up and be honest, he would probably
play more football there then he would at the Bridge.
With Chelsea's reported move for a more experienced Centre Half to finally replace Ricardo
Carvalho, it seems that the club is looking to allow the most promising youngsters to continue to
learn their trade playing at the highest level in a move that I personally agree with. In light of
the moves for new players, it's being reported here that Newcastle are seeking a loan agreement for
Jeffrey Bruma.
There are strong rumours surrounding Danny Sturridge. We have seen reports that he could be used as
part of an exchange deal for Fernando Torres but I have to say I am not sure that Chelsea would be
happy to let him go just yet. A report has appeared here stating that after losing out on Carlos
Vela to West Brom, Bolton boss Owen Coyle is interested in taking Sturridge on loan after Chelsea
have indicated that they are ready to let him go for the remainder of the season.
