This weekend's headlines were stolen by Emmauel Adebayor even before a ball was
kicked. Saturday morning, Adebayor finally lashed out at his former club Arsenal,
moments before the Gunners kicked-off a challenging visit to the
Eastlands.
It has been a below-par start to the season for Liverpool in terms of results and performance, and
although nothing is decided in August or September, there is precious little room for error from
this point forward. As such, I have gone through the club's remaining fixtures for the season and
looked at the type of results Liverpool must arguably achieve in order to win the title.
World football's governing body FIFA has given Chelsea FC a one year transfer ban for the Blues'
alleged role in making youngster Gael Kakuta break his contract with French club Lens. Chelsea will
not be able to buy or even loan players in the next two transfer windows ( The January 2010 winter
window, and the [.
Ironically, though it's labeled as a decider, the outcome of tonight's match might end up not
carrying much weight when things come to a close. Because even with a win tonight, we'd have to
count on Ukraine dropping points to either Belarus tonight or England in one month's time. And if
on par with points before the very last fixture, goal difference would kick in, meaning basically
we'd go head to head as to who can batter their opponents more on the night (those unlucky sides
being Kazahstan and Andorra respectively).
Well if the rumours are true Ashley Cole is the next key player at Chelsea to sign a new deal after
John Terry and Didier Drogba. This is fantastic news as far as I am concerned as after a shaky
start to his Chelsea career and all the stories about Jose' trying to get him to the Bridge in the
first place, and subsequent fines, he has bedded in, worked hard and is now one of our most
consistent
After experiencing a promising start in the top flight by defeating the current Premiership
champions, Burnley's form went crashing down with two heavy road defeats at the hands of Chelsea
and Liverpool, 3-0 and 4-0 respectively. Now, they have to defend their perfect record at home
against Sunderland, who come pumped and ready after thrashing Hull City 4-1 at home.
While he was honored as Estonia's best player in the past half a century by the nation's
football association, Mart Poom could not earn even remotely the same kind of respect on club
level. Despite boasting a variety of Eastern European and English clubs on his resume during his
early days as a player, the legendary former Estonia goalkeeper is best remembered for an extremely
inactive spell as a back-up keeper at Arsenal F.
Infamous Chelsea flop Chris Sutton has been appointed manager at Lincoln City.
Sutton moved to Chelsea from Blackburn in 1999 for a cool £10 million following Rovers'
relegation. He proceeded to net just one goal in 26 league appearances. He was even left out of the
squad for the Blues' FA Cup Final win in 2000.
Today, Wizards players and staff members and children from nearby New Stanley Elementary School
took part in a clean-up event at Ruby Park in KCK called "Greener Goals". As part of the event,
players and children painted a mural on a concrete wall under a bridge, picked up trash, painted
benches, painted lines on a basketball court and played soccer with one another.
Okay, so we lost at home to the Premier League champions. From where I was sitting in the Shelf, it
looked as though we held our own. Unfortunately for us, sloppy defending cost us in the long run as
did losing Sgt. Wilson.
I suppose the only thing I could take from the game was the need for another hard midfielder
sitting in alongside Palacios.

Another day, another London derby. This time it is QPR coming to the Bridge for what is an
eagerly awaited clash, particularly for the Hoops.
I'm looking forward to the game particularly because it represents the best chance Chelsea's
younger players have of making an impression that we've seen for a long time.
