As Livingston take their case against demotion to the SFA against a backdrop of skulduggery and
alleged bribes. Scottish football once again hangs its dirty laundry out to dry.
So I'm studiously scouring through the Dynamo home page today when I come across this:

We are officially a club in crisis.
A lackluster AEK missed chance after chance, and it was 0-0 after regular time. Then, in the
14th minute of extra time, Thrasyvoulos nicked a goal and they held their lead through the rest of
extra time. That is it then. We are out of the Greek Cup, felled by a Division B team.
Richie Jones is back (again), and this time he's being border-line reasonable...
I write this in fevered anticipation of the second leg of the Champions League tie between (my
beloved, free-scoring, incomparable) Liverpool, and (the equally free-scoring, but somehow managing
to concede three to Bolton) Chelsea.
All of days ago we were treated to a trailer of Fahrenheit 2010, the documentary which takes a
look at the devious desires behind FIFA's insistence on a World Cup in South Africa. Not quite sure
it'll have the clout to do any damage (read: bribes), but it shines more light on an already
illuminated subject.
So, in the sober light of day, a few things I feel need to be said. Traditionally when people get
hot and bothered about something in football, I try and keep my distance. I didn't this morning,
and so I want to add a few things to my little two-cents.
First, I don't buy the whole "poetry of the injustice of life reflected in sport" business, that
soccer, indeed all of sport, has always been this way, with dives, fouls, goals not given, twas
ever thus and ever shall be, world without end, amen.
