The turmoil in CONCACAF has spread and Chuck Blazer may be in trouble.
The USA representative on the FIFA Executive Committee has been accused of overseeing financial
irregularities and is also considering a lawsuit against FIFA over unpaid TV commissions. CONCACAF
is still under heavy scrutiny following the scandal that saw former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner
resign in disgrace over bribery allegations.
"I'm retiring to spend more time with my iPod."Chuck Blazer, CONCACAF's General Secretary, will
step down at the end of the year he announced today. Blazer, a frequent homeless person
impersonator, will still remain a member of FIFA's Executive Committee.
"My passion for soccer is undiminished and it is time for me to explore new challenges
within this wonderful sport," Blazer said in a statement.
How many bribery allegations can a Chuck Blazer chuck? The American soccer bureaucrat has

Of course, since Chuck Blazer, the second in command at CONCACAF made the bribery allegations
he, too, has come under scrutiny for his offshore bank accounts (which are not mentioned in this

envelope.
Altidore out: U.S. striker Jozy Altidore, as expected, is out of the Gold Cup after being

"As suspended Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed Bin Hammam departs Zurich fighting
bribery allegations, soccer in his continent of Asia struggles to combat match-fixing, violence and
money issues that threaten to tarnish the Qatari's belief that the future is Asia," a Reuters
report has concluded.
The acting president of the Asian Football Confederation, Mr Zhang Jilong of China, has said his
first priority is to stabilise his organisation. Mr Zhang was appointed temporary chief of the
AFC after president Mohamed bin Hammam was suspended by the world football body, FIFA, over bribery
allegations.
Chuck Blazer's, FIFA's USA member whistleblowing has irked the CFU
In all of the talk of FIFA "reform" and "breakaways", let us not lose sight of CONCACAF as one
of the most dysfunctional regional associations.
After all, this "crisis" was precipitated by Chuck Blazer's whistleblowing of $40,000
bribes being paid out in a meeting of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) arranged by Jack Warner in
lieu of votes for Mohammed Bin Hammam, the challenger to Sepp Blatter.
Brandishing the (apparently all but worthless) FIFA Code of Ethics, a not exactly
contrite Sepp Blatter went on the offensive in Switzerland today, scolding reporters and upbraiding
some fellow FIFA officials (AP Photos).
FIFA President Sepp Blatter may deny it, but the world's governing body has been shaken to the
core and no resolution is in sight.
FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hammam and controversial CONCACAF chief Jack Warner have
been summoned to face the governing body's ethics commission over bribery allegations.
Simply explosive news coming from FIFA headquarters this morning, as Reuters and London's Daily
Telegraph report that CONCACAF president Jack Warner, AFC president (and FIFA presidential
candidate) Mohammed Bin Hammam, and two Caribbean Football Union officials will be investigated by
FIFA for bribery allegations.
LONDON, England The English Football Association (FA) is to abstain from voting in the upcoming
FIFA presidential election between Sepp Blatter and Mohamed Bin Hammam, it was announced Thursday.

Sepp Blatter whose cronies are the ones square in the eye of the present bribery allegations is
now flapping his gums about corruption.
Yes, all window dressing for an election year. FIFA is very, very concerned about Lord

Had difficulty keeping up with events in Indonesia re the PSSI and FIFA so here's what FIFA have to
say.
Indonesia (PSSI): the PSSI should organise the general assembly on 26 March 2011 to elect the
