part of the MLS adidas 2010 New Jerseys Collection. Now here's a detailed look at the Fire's new
kits via a photo shoot featuring Chicago stalwarts Brian McBride and Logan Pause. Included are
closer looks at [.
How will the Fire fare going forward in 2010? (Getty Images)
Today is the start of a new series. As teams get into training camp and new players come on
board its worth looking into each club to see how they are stacking up and what else they need to
do to get ready for the 2010 season. I got this idea from the post I did a few days back on how the
Philadelphia Union were looking.

Why so hard? Not all football hard men are also dirty players, McBride being
perhaps the best example I can think of.
The Kansas City Wizards stadium project cleared its final hurdles on Tuesday night after funding
for the project was approved by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas.
The vote clears the way for construction to begin today on a stadium that will be the crown
jewel of a $400 million development project in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Chicago Fire reconstruction project has already brought the Fire new additions Julio
Martinez and Krzysztof Krol (as well as head coach Carlos De Los Cobos), but now Chicago could be
moving closer to adding a new striker.

training camp in Phoenix, sources told SBI on Friday.

Allow me, an officially accredited member of the mean ol' mainstream media for many, many years,

All Twitter addresses with a Chicago Fire bias are burning up today saying that Carlos de los Cobos
will be the Fire's new head coach.
Oh, I'm sooo full. I got too hungry from writing about food for two hours and portrayed a piggy.
There was broccoli and cauliflower stamppot with meatballs in gravy, and then chocolate caramel

Some believe in the merits of a mock draft. I'm not a subscriber to that, simply because it
would be an exercise in futility.
Rather, for a 2010 Super Draft preview, I'll examine the needs of each team and toss out a few
names that I could see ending up at each club. Getting through all 16 teams might be a tall task,
but there's a solid amount of time between now and January 14.

The MLS SuperDraft is tomorrow people. It's going to be a big day for the Fire, who will have to
wait until the 13th pick to make their first selection. I'm going to be live-blogging the whole
damn thing and I'll be having a good time with it, so be sure to check it out.
If you plan on checking the draft out during your lunch break (it starts at 1 p.
Let's rewind to Thursday's draft for a minute. The Fire picked up a couple of defenders, two
midfielders and even a keeper with their selections, but neglected to draft a forward -- seemingly
a position of need -- with any one of their five picks.
On the surface (assuming the Fire took need into consideration when making their picks) not
drafting a forward makes little sense.

The SuperDraft is over and now clubs all around Major League Soccer are making moves to improve
their rosters. Several are hoping to beef up certain areas while others hoping to get the right
pieces in place to make another deep run in the playoffs this year.

Maybe it is because of the high expectations prior to last season, but it seems as I move
forward along the arrow the player recaps get a bit longer, and a bit more controversial. The
attacking players are the ones that get the glory, and it would seem the criticism. As with Steve
Zakuani, the Sounders community just wants more from Nate Jaqua.
In the winter of 2006, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to London to visit my Aunt
and Uncle. In short, it was an absolutely fantastic trip. My family and I saw the houses of
Parliament, the crown jewels, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and even took a short trip up to Scotland.
Truly, it was the trip of a lifetime.
