Too much news to wait until tomorrow, so here we go, extra early...Bassong has a knee injury on top
of the head/face injuries he suffered against Chelsea:Tottenham centre-back Michael Dawson's return
from injury has handed Harry Redknapp a timely boost to help ease the defensive crisis at White
Hart Lane.
Carlo Cudicini, the Tottenham goalkeeper, fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis after being
involved in a road accident this morning. A spokesman for London's Metropolitan police said the
ambulance service and an emergency helicopter had attended the scene and found the 36-year-old
motorcyclist suffering from injuries described by medics as "possibly life-changing".

Again there are two very interesting soccer matches this gameweek as the Manchester teams go
against each other and Chelsea welcomes Tottenham.
. Chelsea stopped Burnley from their third win over a ‘Top 6' team after they had scalped
Manchester United and Everton. The Blues won 3-0 in a match that saw the first half being
defensively contested by the newly promoted team. Goal keeper Brian Jensen gave a spirited
performance for Burnley as he [.
The Premier League returns after the two week international break - so let's jump back in and check
our fantasy sides. Injuries are still trickling in and team news will follow tomorrow, but I think
we're ready to preview the weekend nonetheless.
If you're new and need a primer as to how this works - check out the opening paragraph here.
So, five games into the league, which players have begun as if their lives depended on it? Who
are the early contenders for player of the year, or golden boot winner? Who has surprised you the
most? Here are a few names to consider, based on what we've seen so far.
Thomas Vermaelen
Hands up who knew about this chap before Arsenal signed him?
In what could be the most obvious Wednesday Wonder to date, Robbie Keane is this week's pick
after his stunning performance on Saturday against Burnley. I'll admit that I've overlooked a
hat-trick for the Wednesday Wonder before and picked somebody else, but there is something special
about that fourth goal.

Man Utd's visit to Turf Moor turned into a nightmare as Premiership minnows Burnley shocked them
with a win that will go down in the annals of that club's history. 41 years had elapsed since
Burnley's last victory against Man Utd at home.
Robbie Blake smashed home a thunderous volley after Patrice Evra's failed to effectively clear
Stephen Jordan's cross in the 18' minute.
It's your first home game in the Premiership in 33 years. You were beaten by giants Stoke on the
opening weekend. You've been granted a reprieve of...three-time defending champions Manchester
United. Roll over and pray for morning sounds like a decent option, doesn't it? ManU lost four
times in the league all of last year, to [.

It was a monumental upset yesterday in the English Premier League as newly promoted club Burnley
shocked the defending champions by a 1-0 score.
A sensational volley by Robbie Blake was enough to overcome a struggling United side. Keeper
Brian Jensen did well to save a Michael Carrick penalty, earning a historic victory for the small
club from northern England.
I am quickly realizing this betting challenge might not last very long .
If you missed it last week, the game works like this. I start with $50 and bet $10 on three
matches every weekend. Ideally, the goal is to see how much money I can win, but, realistically,
the goal it to see how long I can last before I lose the $50.
. Image via Wikipedia Burnley have beaten Everton 1-0 at Turf Moor, to make it two victories out of
two at home for the Clarets. Burnley could have been in the lead as early as the second minute, as
Martin Paterson hit the Everton woodwork and the rebound was saved by Tim Howard. [...]

Matchups between the vaunted can border on dull at times — two great teams yielding nothing,
failing to find the net, and ending in a draw. But the meeting of Arsenal and Manchester United had
none of that: a brilliant goal from Andrey Arshavin, a clever penalty won and scored by Wayne
Rooney, and a "what were you thinking" own goal from Abou Diaby making up the difference.
Liverpool's season is firmly back on track after a Yossi Benayoun hat-trick left promoted Burnley
overwhelmed.
The top-flight new boys had started the season so well with wins over Manchester United and Everton
but have now suffered successive defeats at Chelsea and now Liverpool - conceding seven in the
process.
Charlie Nicholas believes Yossi Benayoun underlined his value to Liverpool as his hat-trick blew
Burnley away at Anfield.
The Isreal international was making his third start of the season, but pressed his claims for a
permanent starting role as Rafa Benitez's side ran riot against the Premier League newcomers.
Andy Reid, Jason Roberts, David Dunn. What do they all have in common?
No, it isn't that at regular intervals, their respective managers have prefixed the mentioning
of their names with a string of expletives, bemoaning their inconsistency/fitness/existence. It
isn't even that they have, at some stage of their careers, been signed for a sum that made most
people remark "how much?

man with support from N'gog but the later missed the closest an the best chance of the match. The
cold and dull afternoon on Saturday at the Ewood Park did match the quality of the game as both

At the risk of speaking too soon... Bobby Zamora seems finally to be coming of age in a Fulham
shirt. Last season's story was one of hit-and-miss showings but continued team selection due to the
fact that he gave us something no-one else could. This year he has added consistency, turning in
decent performances on an almost weekly basis.

Portsmouth Vs Tottenham Tickets Still Available!
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has selection headaches following his side's impressive
win over Preston.
He may start Peter Crouch upfront and displace Carlo Cudicini with Heurelho Gomes in goal, while
Sebastien Bassong could return in defence.
The second gameweek even though just "half a" gameweek turned out be an interesting one.
Gameweeks number one goalkeeper was Burnley's Brian Jensen, who wasn't intimidated by the star
power in the opposing team ManU. Jensen even saved a penaltykick and 14 points is a great score for
a goalkeeper.
no flips; but four goals.
So much can be said about yesterday's match; firstly that, it was only Burnley and as
such we should really avoid the pragmatics of the task in hand with the frivolities of needless
celebrations. They offered us space and time on the ball and we duly took them to task and spanked
seven shades out of them to an embarrassing degree.
Having seen Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch grab the headlines with their
recent hat trick heroics, Spurs captain Robbie Keane knew he had to re-confirm
his importance to the team in the face of growing pressure over his selection.
The Sunday turnaround is still fresh in my mind. It's been a while since we won against a "big"
team, away from home, after conceding a lead. I guess the last one was at Stamford Bridge over a
year ago. That win didn't turn out to be very significant at the end of the season. Will this one
be any different?
