Toronto will certainly protect their stars but who won't be protected? (Getty Images)

The 15h and final club in our expansion draft speculation lists is Toronto FC. Yesterday they announced Preki as their new head coach and his first big task will be helping General Manager Mo Johnston with figuring out who to protect and who to leave exposed in the expansion draft.

The Last Soccer Match At Giants Stadium Ends On A Good Feeling

Major League Soccer Talk 25 October @ 12:24 AM EST

On a cold and rainy night at the swamps of the Meadowlands, this was the final performance on the soccer side at Giants Stadium. Yes the season has been lost since the middle of June, but that doesn't mean the club can't try to play for pride and knock off Toronto FC from the playoffs.

Keeping our hopes alive

The Offside - Toronto FC 17 October @ 08:19 PM EST

Well, TFC did their part correctly this week with a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake at BMO field. That bumps us into 8th place in the playoffs until we find out the rest of the results for the weekend.

This was the final home game of the season, and the Toronto fans gave a nice sending off to fan favorite Danny Dichio before the match with a huge "Thank You" banner across the south end of the stadium.

TFC hanging on, TFC 1 RSL 0

mistake by the lake (for now) 17 October @ 07:24 PM EST
Today was a little lesson in redemption. I guess it is possible to bounce back. TFC looked a tougher team today, Cummins seemed a smarter coach and I might not have been alone in feeling that I was a more confident fan.
It was cold down by the lake this afternoon. Cold in temperature and cold creeping into the heart as so many elements of this week's game seemed to mirror chilly aspects of last week's game. Click to continue reading...

Match Preview: Done for Real?

TORONTO FC VS. REAL SALT LAKE
BMO Field - Saturday, 4PM EST
TV: CBC -- RADIO: The Fan 590
The worst tease to Toronto supporters are the two simple words: mathematically possible. It's the ever-changing combination of points available and rivals' performances that allow TFC to still say "we have a shot" at the playoffs week after week. Click to continue reading...

New York Red Bulls at Toronto FC: Your Running Commentary

Soccer By Ives 13 June @ 06:52 PM EST

The New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC are both in the midst of terrible skids and each will be hoping for the victory that can turn things around when they meet tonight at BMO Field (8pm, MSG+).

If the Red Bulls season is on life-support, then a loss tonight would essentially pull the plug on any faint playoff hopes the team might have.

Toronto FC 0 - 2 Seattle Sounders FC - Match Report

TFC Connected by Ben Van Weelden 04 April @ 07:53 PM EST
div style="text-align: justify;"That was disgraceful. There's no point in looking at this game in-depth - it was awful. We might as well have just sat down on the pitch for 90 minutes. Here are John Carver's post-game thoughts. He basically says everything that needs to be said.br /br /iframe src="http://torontofc. Click to continue reading...

Toronto FC Preview '09: Goalkeepers

TFC Connected by Ben Van Weelden 10 March @ 04:30 PM EST
I've previewed every single MLS club - except ours. Time to start previewing Toronto FC. I'm obviously going to go a bit more in-depth with our own team than I did with the other MLS clubs. As you could probably tell by the title of this post, I'm going to start with our goalkeepers.
Depth Chart: Greg Sutton / Stefan Frei / Brian Edwards
It took us three seasons, but we finally have some goalkeeping depth. Click to continue reading...

NCAA Quarterfinals: The Upsets Continue, My Favorite Pick Out

Because I Think Too Much About Soccer... 11 December @ 09:58 AM EST
A little late but...
UMass 2, Illinois-Chicago 1
The cinderella run continues as UMass grabs their first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance, but now #5 Ohio State stands in their way. Then again, you have a squad that's already overcome #1 seed Boston College. I think you'll see their run end though as UMass was familiar with BC's style of play. Click to continue reading...
