Manager Harry Redknapp blamed a combination of missed chances and poor defending as Spurs went
down 3-1 at Blackpool on Tuesday night.
A clumsy challenge by Bassong gifted Blackpool a 1-0 lead courtesy of Charlie Adam. Spurs had
plenty of chances and saw two Defoe shots cleared off the line.

Tottenham missed the chance to end the evening third in the Premier League pile after losing 3-1
to Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, thanks to goals from Charlie Adam, Dudley Junior Campbell and
Brett Ormerod with Roman Pavlyuchenko profiting from a heavy deflection to grab a 93rd minute
consolation.
Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to move to third in the Premier League when they suffered a
surprise 3-1 defeat at Blackpool.
Blackpool started brightly and opened the scoring when Sébastien Bassong brought down DJ
Campbell and Blackpool captain Charlie Adam, who was close to joining Tottenham last month, scored
from the penalty after 18 minutes.

Rafael van der Vaart is out of tonight's match after aggravating a calf injury in training. Rafa
picked up the injury in our 2-1 win over Bolton but recovered in time to start against Milan last
week. However, the problem flared up again in training yesterday.
Harry Redknapp has said: "He missed a couple of games, played in Milan, got through 70 minutes
and then yesterday morning didn't feel good.
