FC Boro 13 November @ 09:55 AM EST
It's back to league action this weekend as Gateshead make the long journey south to play
Stevenage in a fixture which was last played in 1998 with the 'Tynesiders' winning the game 2-1
at the International Stadium. Boro though won the reverse fixture earlier that season 6-1, so I
doubt the Gateshead fans have that fond of memories of Hertfordshire.

Adam Pearson, the new chairman of Hull City, has told manager Phil Brown that he has one more match
to save his Hull City career.
"The manager was expected to be dismissed after the 2-0 defeat away to Burnley on Saturday, but it
seems he has earned himself a stay of execution for one more game at least because of the woeful
performance of Mike Jones, the referee, at Turf Moor.

This year's annual Supporters Direct conference found the organisation at something of a
crossroads. The high profile failure of Supporters Trusts at Notts County and Stockport County have
caused a deal of unwanted attention to be cast upon SD (even though they are obviously not for
responsible for the goings on at specific trusts) and, with continuing concerns about the
credentials of some of the owners coming into the game, this year's conference was always going to
carry an underlying theme about two subjects: foreign ownership and the question of whether
supporter ownership of clubs is always a good thing.

Southend United lost for the second time in just four days, after two second half penalties handed
all three points to Brentford at Griffin Park.
The Blues had taken the lead on 9 minutes in bizarre fashion, when Simon Francis' free kick was
mis-handled by the home 'keeper who bundled it over his own line.

I settled down yesterday afternoon ready for one of those great footballing days that come along
every now and again. I had the prospect of 4 matches in a row to keep me entertained (including
Charlton v Brentford!) and to see if Scotland could get a win against Macedonia. It was an
opportunity to run the rule over a few players who have returned to regular football in the
Premiership and see just what Scotland could do.

Bit gutted about the FA Cup Final still but at the end of the day it was a great day to be an
Evertonian whatever the result. Chelsea fans, individually, were mainly sound but collectively they
seemed an odd bunch (Singing versions "Poor Scouser Tommy" and some weird Bouncey bouncey song). It
was only this weekend that's made me realise how unpopular Chelsea are, everyone we met, Arsenal,
liverpool, United, Blackburn, West Ham, Brentford seemed to be going out of their way to wish us
luck again The Pensioners which was nice.

Brentford have won League Two, and will be joined in League One next year by Exeter, Wycombe, and
the playoff winner. Luton Town finish bottom of the league, primarily due to the hard 30 point
penalty they received before the season began. Without the point deduction, Luton would have
finished comfortably in 15th.

league.
