So yes, a disturbing trend has emerged. I have fallen off the soccer-linguistic trendsetting
train and also, more importantly, the Portuguese believe they can slap an "inha" on something and
that makes it okay.
Well, unfortunately for the Portuguese (and Brazilians), the sheriff is back in town.
Last week Zlatan Ibrahimovic got into a practice scuffle with Oguchi Onyewu that was rumored to
be instigated by a dirty tackle that the Swede made on the Yank center back and the rough play
possibly put Onyewu's vulnerable repaired knee into question. Regardless, the tackle sparked a
serious fight between the two men.
With Ronaldinho back in the Brazil squad, today's match against Argentina will definitely be
worth watching. The 30 year old play maker has been included in the team for the first time since
April 2009 when he last featured for the Selecao in a World Cup qualifier.
Considering the recent history between these two sides, one would pick the Samba boys as the
favourites to win today's match, however, La Albiceleste will not guarantee Brazil a
forthright victory.
With a little and very loose tie-in to El Clásico
The author likes this organization and the soccer it represents...
if you've read anything I've written about soccer, you know I like Brazilian soccer, the
Brazilian national soccer teams, and lots of Brazilian players. But there are Brazilians I
don't like, or who I think are overrated, or both.
