There's nothing signed and sealed at the moment but it's fair to say there has been dialogue
(with Chelsea). I've got to be up front and tell you, as I always do, and that's the situation.
Those are the key words, straight from the mouth of Bolton manager Owen Coyle.
Is there a rule in sport which stipulates the appropriate duration for touching a teammate's
ass? Whatever it may be, Frank Lampard crossed the line. There's no such thing as an appropriate
pat-and-slide. That ventures into a 'caress'.
Really it's not that bad, though, and it's purely a ruse: Where's the footage of Branislav
Ivanovic having his ass continually kissed by the trainer who was rubbing down his thigh with some
sort of lotion?
Anxiety? Not needed.
A pulsating showcase, carefully imagined by Andre Villas-Boas and anchored by the irresistible
Didier Drogba, sees our beloved Chelsea into the knockout stages of the Champions League once
again. As group winners, too, no less. This, my friends, was a night to cherish.
Happiness is a warm brace
What to say, what to say.
Frank Lampard has rubbished suggestions that he is preparing for a move abroad, maintaining that
he aims to be a Chelsea player for the remainder for his career.
Lampard, 33, has been in terrific form for the Blues this season but had to fight his way back
into the starting line-up after being benched for a few games earlier in the campaign.
They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Case in point:
Road warrior
Battered, bloodied, and fairly rubbish. No matter. Chelsea still manage to hold on for a
much-needed win at Ewood Park, 1-0, over a Blackburn Rovers side that probably deserved a
point.
With Chelsea earning a throw and Branislav Ivanovic very prepared to get proceedings moving, he
ambled over to the touchline.
And then this man happened. And the ball went way down the pitch. And Branislav got a suggestion
of just how one QPR fan feels about his laundry. So apparently QPR really was playing with 12 the
only question is whether or not they were playing with 13.
By Chris Wright
I know it's incredibly moronic, but I just can't stop laughing at this little clip in which a
QPR fan seizes his opportunity to nip in and yell in Branislav Ivanovic's face with gusto.
Wait for it, waaaaait for it and...TOSSAH!
In and out like a Cockney insult ninja, though I think we all know who the real tosser is
here.

Chelsea saw their 24-matches-without-losing-at-home-in-the-Champions-League-group-stage streak
(dating back to 2003) rumble over to 25 last night, with a comprehensive and routine battering of
Belgian club Genk at Stamford Bridge.
The domestically-banned Fernando Torres kept his eye in with a brace, with a goal-a-piece from
Raul Meireles, Branislav Ivanovic and Salomon Kalou fleshing out the rout on what proved to be a
pretty easy night's work for the boys in blue.

Aaron Ramsey came off the bench to strike an injury-time winner that guided Arsenal to a famous
1-0 victory over Olympique Marseille at Stade Velodrome.
Earlier in the match, a blatant handball from Marseille's Souleymane Diawara went unnoticed as
the Gunners were denied an easy penalty decision.
A host of Chelsea players are in action today for their respective countries as qualifying for
next year's European Championships comes to a close. Some, including Branislav Ivanovic, are in for
a nervy couple of hours.
Rant it up on an international level right here.

Three of the Chelsea boys managed to make it on the scoresheet for their international teams on
Friday as we continue the agonizing wait for the Premier League to resume.
Juan Mata managed to beat the offside trap against Petr Cech's fellow defenders, latching on to
a nice pass and slipping the ball past his club's number one as Spain ran out 2-0 winners over the
Czechs.

With Manchester United crushing Arsenal 8-2 and defeating Chelsea 3-1 at Old Trafford within a
month, both London teams are aware that there is no room for error as the champions are running
away quickly.
United, who are the only side in the Premier League with a perfect record, have established a
five point lead over the Blues and a massive 11-point edge over the Gunners.
An unconvincing Chelsea see off a game Norwich City side at Stamford Bridge. A needed win, but
one potentially overshadowed by the condition of Didier Drogba.
Get well soon
The struggle continues. Aside from an impressive start to both halves, and a late spark provided
by a pair of new signings, Chelsea were pedestrian.
Chelsea came from behind to beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and join Aston
Villa, Liverpool, and Newcastle United atop the Barclays Premier League standings.
Goals from Nicolas Anelka and first-half substitute Florent Malouda, who replaced Salomon Kalou,
were enough to turn the tables on the Baggies, who had taken an early lead through last weekend's
scorer Shane Long.
A brief synopsis of the latest injury chatter heading into the curtain-rasier this weekend
(provided the riots don't prevent it from happening). More after the jump.
In Doubt?
So if we're lucky to get some footy this weekend, we may well be in a bit of a bind with some
injuries key members of our squad are carrying.
Chelsea's Andre Villas-Boas struggling for defenders after Branislav Ivanovic injury | Mail Online
Branislav Ivanovic will miss Chelsea's first game of the season with a thigh injury, leaving Andre
Villas-Boas with a defensive headache ahead of Sunday's trip to Stoke. Ivanovic has not trained
fully since pulling a muscle in pre-season and missed Serbia's friendly in Russia.
Some good. Mostly bad. Sums up international friendlies rather well I'd say.
Milestone
Our England trio were spared the opportunity to pick up various knocks when the Three Lions'
exhibition against the Netherlands at Wembley was called off due to rioting throughout the
country.
A new season is upon us. It may not be this weekend thanks to a large number of disillusioned
idiots but it will arrive soon nevertheless. This fact brings with it a number of questions, among
them: Who will Andre Villas-Boas field at the Britannia in our opener?
The goal
As Petr Cech admitted earlier this week, there are a plethora of options at the manager's
disposal.
Attacking proficiency on the right side of our defense is not exactly something we've possessed
in recent seasons. That's hardly a secret.
Sure, Branislav Ivanovic has been outstanding as a fullback. Outstanding in the face of being
forced into the position. Applaud the man. Still, no matter how much we love him (and trust me we
do), his ability in the offensive third of the field has never been of elite quality.
It's always nice to hear from all members of our squad rather than the main established players
such as JT, Lamps, Cech and Didier. Don't get me wrong, it's important that these four have their
say during pre season and the season, but at times it's nice to hear from the others.
Today I get to blog about comments made by Branislav Ivanovic, John Obi Mikel and Salomon Kalou.
It is difficult to draw conclusions from a preseason friendly, sure. That's not to suggest
certain impressions cannot be made, however. So, with that being said, let's take a brief look
inside today's exhibition in Bangkok.

Following our first two preseason friendlies of 2011-12, in which we were overtly lackluster but
still managed to win, Chelsea awaken somewhat in a 4-0 defeat of a pretty strong group of all-stars
from the Thailand Premier League.

Have a look and a listen to Andre Villas-Boas and company at a media event in Bandar Utama as
part of our preseason tour of Asia.
Pay special attention to Bane. Superb facial work by the intensely serious Serbian.
Check the jump for the visual.
A whirlwind couple of days ends with the appointment of one of the most beautiful men on the
planet. High praise coming from a hetero male.
The Chelsea Offside found time amid its myriad of public service and motivational speaking
commitments to offer some initial thoughts on this new era at Chelsea Football Club.
The helmeted one, to absolutely no one's surprise, has been named the Chelsea Offside readers'
player of the season. By a country mile.
Readers' player of the season voting results (2010-11):
Total votes: 272 (50 more than last season)
1.
The season hath ended.
With it comes a managerial search. Not exactly surprising. Also arriving, of course, are the
Chelsea Offside end of season awards. This should be far more enjoyable than fretting over the
possibility of Harry Redknapp toiling about on the touchline come the end of May.
Castrol Football have used their year-round football stats to pick out the 11 best performers

Joe Hart
The England international kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season (18).
We can only imagine what it's like for the Chelsea players after training. It's a time to wind down
and relax and prepare for the next game. To take things easy. However, in the case of David Luiz,
Branislav Ivanovic, Nico Anelka and Paulo Ferreira, they decided to take on a game of Space
Invaders. Have a look below:

In which Chelsea mob Nicolas Anelka, Branislav Ivanovic, Paulo Ferreira and David Luiz partake
in a huge game of footballing Space Invaders during the middle of the night in an abandoned
warehouse somewhere in Battersea.
Why? Lord alone knows, though sponsors 188BET did vow to donate the £1,500 prize money to the
eventual winner's charity of choice.
David Luiz, Branislav Ivanovic, Paulo Ferreira and Nicolas Anelka keep a bunch of aliens at
bay.
At least one Chelsea player has a trophy this season! Now we know why Chelsea's title challenge was
doomed the squad were busy trying to beat their top score in this giant footballing version of
Space Invaders. David Luiz, Branislav Ivanovic, Paulo Ferreira and Nicolas Anelka all took on a
game of 'Alien Invaders'.
Last night in the great hall at Chelsea, Our end of season awards night took place and five awards
were handed out.
First was goal of the season and the award went to
Ramires for his goal against Man
City:
Second was the award for young player of the year and the award went to Josh McEachran.
Branislav Ivanovic's young son takes the opportunity post-match yesterday to break away from the
pack and show off some dribbling skills. And then, he shoots he scores! Only five more goals to
catch up to his dad for the season!
