A sparse crowd at chilly RFK Stadium (2,804 announced) wednesday evening witnessed the pieces

United midfielder has torn ACL and is out for season
We have an update on the status of United midfielder Brandon Barklage. The second-year player
has indeed suffered a torn ACL in his left leg. This fact was confirmed via an MRI following
Barklage's injury in the AC Milan match, and it appears he has also sustained slight damage to his
meniscus as well.
Last night, the team gathered for the first time at Commonwealth Orthopaedics in Vienna, VA for
physicals. Tony Limarzi caught up with Troy Perkins, Brandon Barklage, Santino Quaranta and
SuperDraft pick Jordan Graye to talk about beginning preparations for the 2010 campaign.
Luciano Emilio (right) got the scoring started in the 20th minute as he stabbed in a perfectly
headed crossing pass from Pontius to send RFK into delirium. Then Pontius and Allsopp added one
each before the Italian side mounted a late come-back. Photo: Martin Fernandez.
