Chelsea have already earned the bragging rights in London this summer with the news that Eden
Hazard is joining them next season, but it seems that the Blues are still not finished in their
rebuilding program. With Van Persie's future at Arsenal still undecided it is often forgotten that
Theo Walcott is also entering the [.
Another game day. Well, maybe not just another game day. After all this is a Cascadia Cup match
and that, in itself, is something that makes tonight's match just a little more noteworthy than
traditional games. There's a bit more adrenaline. Perhaps even a little more brazen raucousness
from the fans.
We should still have another preview piece for you later tonight, but before that hits I wanted
to bring up the discussion of the Cascadia Cup, once again, ahead of our first Cascadia Cup match
tomorrow. Since this regional rivalry is so important, at least in terms of bragging rights, I'm
genuinely curious to see where it stands with you in the grand scheme of the season.
For the Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC, the Voyageurs Cup is there for the taking at BMO
Field Wednesday night.
The two clubs square off in the second leg of the Canadian championship final (8 p.m., Rogers
Sportsnet), with one earning domestic bragging rights and a place in this summer's CONCACAF
Champions League.
Wotcha gang, back once again with the Rengade Dexy. Giving you a quick once-over of the past
season. Here's part 2, the middle ground.
Everton. 7th
Prediction (9). Dexys Diamond. Cahill.
Yet again, Moyes has worked his usual miracle. I stuck my neck out for a Moyes toffeenosed struggle
this season but 7th is still very respectable given his budget.
The Vancouver Whitecaps looked poised to take all three points and earn some bragging rights on
rival Seattle, but the Sounders were bailed out by a familiar hero who delivered yet another clutch
goal.
Freddy Montero scored in the 90th minute to help give the Sounders a 2-2 tie at BC Place in
Vancouver.

If there is a sense of inevitability on the red side of Manchester about the impact of their
local rival's billions, they only need to look towards London for solace. That isn't implying that
United will put a halt to City's pursuit of dominance like they did to Chelsea's under
Abramovich.

Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have left the rest of the Liverpool squad in no doubt what a
victory over rivals Everton on Saturday would mean according to Stewart Downing.
The England winger has been given a crash course on Merseyside bragging rights by the two local
heroes ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash.
With the #GrowTheGame San Diego Pilot fast approaching, Soccer
Support will be previewing each of the five major events being held across the city on
Saturday 14 & Sunday April 15.
A coordinated weekend of activities by the soccer community will help the sport grow in a number
of ways including exposure to new players and sponsors, networking with other clubs to share best
practice and providing platforms for junior clubs to link with the highest levels of the game in
San Diego, inspiring the future generation of players in the process.
Quick turnaround for Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool as face relegation threatened Blackburn just a
few days after their draw at Anfield with Aston Villa. Tuesday's hosts sit 18th in the table, level
on points with both QPR and Wigan and sandwiched in between the two clubs on goal differential.

When Mexico and Honduras square off on Monday in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying final, there
will be little to play for other than bragging rights.
Both teams will represent CONCACAF in this summer's Olympics after securing berths to the
competition in London this past Saturday. Honduras defeated El Salvador 3-2 in extratime in the
first semifinals match, while Mexico topped Canada, 3-1, in regulation.
Ahead of tonight's game against his former club, Chris Smalling has talked of the desperation
the players feels to win the league this season.
"We're both Manchester clubs. That's bragging rights for a whole year. We can't let that
happen!" he said. "They are not used to playing for just one trophy at United.
Liverpool boss gave us his thoughts ahead of tonights crunch League derby with Everton at
Anfield.
For us it's a massive game," Dalglish admitted.
"It's a great game to play in and there will be a fantastic atmosphere. Anybody involved in
football knows derby matches are special.
Winning the title at White Hart Lane may seem a distant memory for Arsenal fans, but they can at
least reflect that Sunday's win put paid to any slim hopes Spurs harboured of claiming
their first championship since 1961.
The 5-2 demolition leaves Spurs ten points adrift of Manchester City and eight behind Manchester
United.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp blamed it on a ‘bad day' as the club surrendered a two goal lead
at The Emirates. Harry also admitted that he was a little puzzled by the defeat and couldn't quite
explain how it had all happened.
"Even at 2-0 I couldn't say I felt over-comfortable," Redknapp told Sky Sports.
Ah, Fernando Torres set fire to the rain, why don't you? He's the the classic
case of Favourite Footballer To Hate, and it's only going to get worse for poor
tipo over here. You see, Vicente del Bosque has left him
out of Spain's squad for their upcoming friendly against Venezuela on the 29th, opting instead to
go with Valencia's Roberto Soldado.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is set to face a late fitness test with the Spurs medical
staff this weekend - but should still be able to shake off the ill effects of a recent knee injury
in a bid to return to the Tottenham lineup to face bitter North London rivals Arsenal at the
Emirates on Sunday.
THFC1882 welcomes another guest post by Anthony Lombardi, this one may have
some foaming at the mouth:
WHY SPURS NEED ARSENAL TO BE BETTER
As Arsenal succumbed to a humiliating 4-0 Champions League thrashing by AC Milan at the San
Siro, a rather surprising thought came to me:
Should we really be celebrating the demise of Arsenal Football Club?
Olympique de Marseille vs. Olympique Lyonnais
Stade Vélodrome – Week 22, Ligue 1.
The swords are drawn.
The only two teams in French League alive in four championships play in The Olympico at
Stade Vélodrome. Not just another League match, but one that will set expectations for greater
games to come.

Despite both sides having punched their tickets to the 2012 London Olympics, bragging rights and
a No. 1 seed were on the line when the United States Women clashed with Canada last night.
Thanks to the continued brilliance of Abby Wambach and young gun Alex Morgan, the United States
trotted out a 4-0 victory to cap off what has largely been a pedestrian Olympic Qualifying.

Patrice and Luis, in happier times
This weekend is FA Cup fourth-round weekend, and the headline affair is the first meeting
between Liverpool and Manchester United since that whole sordid Suarez/Evra ordeal swelled up,
became painfully inflamed, burst through the abdominal wall of public consciousness and then
scabbed over like a big racist hernia.
Who should MLS face off against this summer in the All-Star Game? (Getty Images)
Today we learned that Philadelphia and PPL Park would be home to this year's summer friendly for
Major League Soccer known as the All Star Game.
But what we don't know is who the MLS All Stars will be facing off against come July.
Fútbol en South America is finally getting ready to make news again. Some South American domestic
leagues will get underway this week, with others soon to follow, and the qualifying rounds of the
2012 Copa Libertadores also begin this week. The biggest news here in Buenos Aires, however, is the
only meeting of the season between Boca Juniors and River Plate, which takes place in the Torneo de
Verano on Wednesday night.
The whole week has been building up to this: the double-header featuring Manchester City against
Tottenham Hotspur followed by Arsenal and Manchester United. So much is on the line. Not just three
points, but also pride and bragging rights. It's...

Here is some insight into why Rovers fans hate Steve Kean. They actually hate the owners just as
much for their bewildering decision to sack the hugely popular Sam Allardyce installing Kean in his
place. The reason was never fully explained. But this seems to be par for the course for an
ownership whose intention is to marginalize the board right from the inception.
Almost 3 months have past since the ‘noisy neighbours' and blue half of Manchester claimed the
latest bragging rights of the city, as Roberto Mancini's City thumped United 6-1 in their own

El Clasico showdown, Old Firm derby and lots of Man City action in December - originally posted
on Soccerlens.com
There's only one more month left in 2011, and it looks like the year will go out with a real
bang from a football standpoint.
December features several must-see matches, with a few that will have title implications on top
of deciding bragging rights between fierce rivals.
The death of Gary Speed has in my opinion put the trials and tribulations of supporting a
football team into some sort of perspective.
Look back over our posts since the CC final fiasco and see how many AA subscribers were tearing
their hair out, demanding immediate changes of all kinds as though the fate of our football team
was a matter of life and death.

You have to love Saturday mornings. Having a lie in, cooking a fry up, sticking on the telly and
getting amongst all the hype and build up of the next round of games in the Premiership and
Football League - then off on the train, to the pub for a few with your mates and then scuttling to
the ground to watch your beloved local team get a good stuffing by some super rich oil baron owned
team that puts your first 11 to shame.

Commander of the Silver Knights, Tommy Tanner indicated he was
not in the mood for guerilla tactics in the battle for Central New York bragging rights that took
place on his home turf last night. Apparently the SITREP did not get to his field units in time to
start the game.

Entering the home straight. And a word for Tweetsport who have been massively supportive of this
blogathon.
And they've adopted Alzheimer Scotland's quite stunning Football Memories project as their site
charity. All their help has been massively appreciated.

I venture south of the border and consider Everton.
Welcoming Laurie Dunsire this hour. A Hearts fan. This blogathon is inclusive to its bones.

I'll let Laurie explain what this hour has been about:
Aidan Smith, Hibs fan and sports journalist, carried out an unthinkable challenge when he became a
Hearts fan for a whole season, something which he documented in his book, Heartfelt: Supping Bovril
from the Devil's Cup.
'You can't win them all' is a saying that has applied to every Premier League team,
barring the Invincible's.
Tomorrow we face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and ever since they have had their millions billions
pumped in the fixture has become one of the biggest in our season, not only that, there are
bragging rights at stake, especially against their fans who don't realise their club wasn't founded
in the past decade.
Over the years, there have been many significant matches between Manchester United and Manchester
City. In fact, every Manchester derby is significant, if for no other reason than the city rivalry
and the bragging rights that come from being on the winning side. But is it fair to say that few
clashes between United and [.
