That Bradford City should be yet again linked with a move away from Valley Parade should come as
no surprise. This time, the local council want them to move to a "sports village" at Odsal Stadium,
which they will share with local rugby league club Bradford Bulls. Many Bantams supporters,
however, are struggling to see what exactly the benefits of moving to Odsal would be to the
football club.

Aston Villa 1 (Platt) Bradford City 0. Old Second Division. 1988. This was the first football
match I ever watched and I instantly fell in love with Villa's goal scoring hero, a fish shaped man

I thought he was a footballing god.

Anyone tuning in to ITV1 late on Saturday afternoon will have been greeted by the sight of grown
men sporting silly hats in a sea of similarly dressed people and empty red seats. This, apparently,
was Wembley's pre-match atmosphere in all its glory ahead of England's friendly with Slovenia. The
St George Cross hung from every ledge in the famous (new) stadium as the national side took to the
field and will no doubt be out in force again on Wednesday night when Croatia visit the capital.

Shackleton was a mould breaker, a player who refused to conform and loved to entertain the
public.
