Merry Christmas to all my readers out there! I just thought for a laugh and to get us all into
the Christmas spirit i'd make a short and sweet post giving you the chance to have a bit of fun.

The Mequon United Under-15 girls team is off to Florida for the United Soccer Leagues Super
Y-League North American Finals.
Mequon is one of the 135 teams shooting for championships in 12 divisions – there are boys and
girls brackets in Under-12 through Under-17 age groups – at the event in Tampa, Fla.
The NextGen Series has announced the brackets for the quarter finals on their Twitter feed and
it sets up a possible trip to Barcelona for our Young Lions. Due to domestic fixtures, the quarters
finals will be played over just one leg with each of the group winners earning the advantage of
playing at home:
QF1: Group 1 Winner vs Group 3 Runner-up
QF2: Group 2 Winner vs
Group 4 Runner-up
QF3: Group 3 Winner vs Group 1 Runner-up
QF4:
Group 4 Winner vs Group 2 Runner-up
Group 2 has already been wrapped up with Sporting winning the group and Liverpool finishing in
second place.
KSU Soccer Stadium will soon play host the the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's College Cup Finals.
Sixty-Four teams started the tournament and are fighting towards a spot in Kennesaw, GA. The
semifinal matches will be played on December 2nd at 5 & 7:30 PM followed by the championship match
on Sunday, December 4th at 1 PM.
Nine Wisconsin college soccer teams got their NCAA tournament assignments Monday, as brackets
were announced for all three women's divisions and two of the three men's divisions – the
Division I field will be released next Monday.
Here's a look at the state teams that earned spots in their respective tournaments.

There's still a week to go until the brackets for the 2011 NCAA Tournament are revealed but
several teams have already seen their postseason hopes extinguished.
Only four teams remain in the Big East Tournament as Connecticut, Louisville, St.
The Draw for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament has been held and the USA will
be in Group B with Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.

thoughts on the qualifying tournament and the USA's upcoming schedule:

The prize money available increases round on round and the brackets denote the number of teams that
will receive funds. Just under £15 million will be paid out by the Football Association in prize
money by the time the Final is played on May 5th 2012.

The less said about that the better.
The WIAA released the brackets for its girls soccer tournament Friday, allowing teams across the
three divisions to chart their paths to Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee for next month's state
tournament.
Three sectionals include three teams that are ranked in this week's Wisconsin Soccer Coaches
Association state polls: the Brookfield East and Middleton sectionals in Division 1 and the New
Holstein sectional in Division 3.
Last week's predictions may just have been my worst effort so far. Such a shame to take a step
backwards when things were beginning to look up with one or two exact scorelines coming in.
Here are those predictions (actual results in brackets). Red for incorrect result, blue for correct
result, green for exact scoreline.
An eight team field, the games open today with first round games. There will be semifinal games
Saturday morning followed by finals in the early afternoon. I'll be on hand for this evenings games
and depending on the weather, may see more games tomorrow.
I wasn't provided the brackets but assuming they are based upon the times, Willard and Bolivar
should meet in a semifinal tomorrow morning with the winner going to the Championship game.

and while I posted the viewing times throughout, I had no time for comments. So I'm back with
