Some hard news, finally.
The FA released the upcoming season's fixture list this morning. Chelsea will start away from
home for the first time in six seasons. TBA and company will be at the Britannia for no doubt a
warm welcome.

Okay, now I can see why Sir Alex complains about our dressing room. I don't agree with
the whining, but my alma mater, the tiny Division 3 Goucher College, had a larger locker-room. My
girlfriend said her high school's smallest locker-room was still bigger.
The greatest pleasure a celebrity can have is not from doing what people say he or she cannot
do, it's by doing what people say he or she shouldn't do.
Inspired by her 'Sport Relief' training regimen, as well as her own sister's personal tales of
dieting and sharing germs on the elliptical machines, Frank Lampard's fiancée has officially
jumped aboard the fitness DVD bandwagon.

few days, Blackburn boss Steve Kean might just have found a Bunn to save his bacon. Young keeper
Mark Bunn put in a great performance to earn a point at Liverpool. 2. It definitely wasn't a Blue
Christmas.
The fixtures are out at 9am. I'll be in training all day, so will miss all the excitement.
But feel free to discuss. Does it look good? What's the run-in like?

AWAY TO SPURS TO END THE SEASON

The fixture schedule for next season's Premier League has been announced this morning at 9am on
the dot and, as per usual, we're not actually allowed to post the calendar in full for piffling
legal reasons.
Here are a few choice dates for you to jot down in your diaries.

Manchester United is a very good club. This season, they've tossed aside inferior opponents with
a startling ease. Despite that, there's no reason Fulham should've lost to them 5-nil at home
yesterday. The South London club looked completely unprepared to deal with the likes of Danny
Welbeck, Nani and Wayne Rooney.

Five things we learned from the Boxing Day football | Jonathan Wilson
Dimitar Berbatov has still got it but Ashley Cole appears to be losing it and Andy Carroll is
just unlucky Berbatov's still got it One of the sadnesses of modern football and the prevalence of
large squads is the talent that does not get to play.
Here we go. A disappointing week for many fantasy managers as the leading candidates in the Boxing
Day fixtures failed to produce. Manchester United win 5-0 but neither Wayne Rooney nor Nani
registered a single goal or assist. That's ridiculous. ... Continue reading →
It's all over for another year and in case you're wondering we're 107 days away from the next
bank holiday and long weekend. Kill me now!! What a festive period we've had though, with three
wins out of three, two clean sheets, 5 goals scored and two red cards. I haven't updated much
because quite frankly I haven't had the time or inclination to do anything between watching Spurs,
other football, darts, pulling all nighters to watch the Ashes and eating more food than a really
hungry fat man.
Blackpool vs Liverpool 12th January, 2011 Bloomfield Road, Blackpool 19.45 UK kick off This
Blackpool vs Liverpool game is actually a rearranged Boxing Day fixture. It is also Kenny
Dalglish's first league game in charge of Liverpool in over 20 years. Blackpool, for the record,
beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield a few months ago.
Blackpool vs Manchester United Bloomfield Road, Blackpool- January 25, 2011 Final score:- Blackpool
2-3 Manchester United ( Cathcart,Campbell/ Berbatov*2, Hernandez) A brilliant second half comeback
from Manchester United allows the Red Devils to beat Blackpool 3-2 at Bloomfield Road after
trailing 2-0 at the lemon break.
Manchester City's compounding defeat at the hands of Chelsea yesterday has put another nail into
the coffin of manager Roberto Mancini.
The man cannot seem to get to grips with the Premier League. His side was far too cautious
yesterday with defensive minded players Barry and De Jong literally offering time and space to
Michael Essien and Ramires in midfield.
Wayne Rooney believes we have an advantage whenever we play at home due to the fear opposition
fans feel when awaiting to play us at Old Trafford.
Rooney came with Everton on Boxing Day 2003 and lost 3-2. The season before that he was a second
half sub and Everton lost 3-0.
So far this season, we've won 14 of our 15 games at home, drawing the other, after a freak
mistake from Edwin Van der Sar against West Brom.
A severely weakened Liverpool side goes into tonight's game against Man City at Anfield looking to
bounce back from the disappointment of defeat at the Hawthorns last weekend. Glen Johnson and
Daniel Agger have joined the ever growing injury list which, alongside the confirmation that Steven
Gerrard will miss the remainder of the season, leaves the Reds distinctly restricted in their
selection options.
"I'm weary now and I want to leave this town, I can't find a job I'm tired of hanging
around."
(Jimmie Rodgers, "Whistle Train Blues")
With the season winding down and our safety practically assured, logic suggests that fringe
players may get a run out. But, conversely, it seems that Hughes has finally settled on a starting
XI that is achieving results.
Jermain Defoe has spoken publicly once again about his frustration at the lack of first team
action this season. After an absence due to injury, Defoe was sent off in the Boxing Day game at
Aston Villa and following his subsequent suspension, Harry Redknapp only picked him
sporadically.
Defoe took until March to register his first Premier League goal, but was still left on the
bench in the main for the last part of the season.
Having given your verdict on the player of the season, it's time to have your say regarding your
favourite goals from the last campaign.
As you would expect from Spurs, there were some stunning strikes and many of our goals from
2010-11 featured on Match of the Day and Sky's regular competitions, but which of these really
stands out?
We have an extremely hard start to the season that's what!
Everton at home to start, some will say is fine as the toffees are very often slow starters to
the season but then couple that with the Champions away followed by the richest club in the world
at home it is a tough first month.

The world is abuzz this morning with the shocking revelation that "foreign" English Premier
League owners would like to see an end to relegation. Among the league's foreign ownership are
several Americans, most notably the Glazers at United, Randy Lerner at Aston Villa, and Fenway
Sports Group at Liverpool.
In my two decades as Newcastle fan I have had worse Christmases, tucking into my Turkey in 2008
whilst languishing four points above the relegation zone springs immediately to mind. This was made
all the worse by having to bypass drinking my despair away due to a nice early drive to Wigan the
next morning.
Bottom of the Premier League with just nine points from 15 games and things don't get any better
for Owen Coyle.
Gary Cahill is expected to leave for greater things this January with Arsenal, Chelsea and
Tottenham rumoured to be after the England international's services. And as Cahill loosk to be
leaving Coyle is left with a big hole to fill in his defence and his squad.

Boxing Day football review
It wasn't as stellar as the famous goal-rush of 1963, but this Boxing Day was not without its
dramas. The day began with Jose Mourinho claiming his next job would be in England.

This Boxing Day was a great one for Arsenal and a fun time for me. Hope you had a joyful
Christmas too. Apologies for the lateness of this post but the whole weekend was just so enjoyable
and engaging, I couldn't find any time before now. Well, I did find some time but then Sachin came
on to bat and took up the best part of the last two hours.
Arsenal missed the chance to go fourth in the Premier League as they were denied by a series of
saves from Wayne Hennessey when being held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners, without a defeat to Wolves since 1979, were looking to capitalise on a draw between
Chelsea and Fulham on Boxing Day and took the lead after only eight minutes whenGervinho beat
the offside trap to score his fourth goal of the season.
Brand Beckham definitely has cracked the Asian market now! North Korea treated its citizens to a
Boxing Day TV screening of Bend It Like Beckham. Martin Uden, the British ambassador to South
Korea, claimed on Twitter that it was the "1st ever Western-made film to air on TV" in North Korea.
He also claimed that [.

A great deal of confidence was undoubtedly restored at Stamford Bridge and our slide toward
oblivion apparently halted. At least for a while. Tonight, with Sunderland coming to Villa Park,
we'll see whether there's enough fire burning in this team to launch an ascent back up the
table.
The CEO's backed the manager, the assistant manager has backed the team, now it's up to the
players to show that they really do care.

Fancy a bit of Charlie?
According to those bods over at Sky Sports News, Liverpool are near as damn-it to
submitting a £3.5 million bid for Blackpool's influential schemer Charlie Adam
(thus gazumping Blackburn, Aston Villa and Birmingham, who all had £2.
Depending on who you support and how passionate you are about your club, I'm sure there would be
plenty of disagreement regarding which is the biggest Premier League match of the today. With
Sunderland and Newcastle United as well as Birmingham City versus Aston Villa already in the bag,
our attention today now turns to Liverpool against Everton followed by Tottenham Hotspur versus
Manchester United.
One facet of this season I've found to be a bit peculiar is the seeming lack of narrative.
Usually by this point in the season the pieces of the puzzle are coming together.
For me, last year was all about Europe. The year before, we watched and wondered about what Roy
could do with his first full season at the helm.
The Fighter: "Irish" Steven BeattieEnough of that wacky rap music street jive, Toronto FC is doing serious business... yo! Major
League Soccer held the 2011 Supplemental Draft today and Team Winter was busy doing what Mo
Johnston rarely did - team building. For those of you who don't know what this draft is all about,
think of last week's SuperDraft as the exciting Boxing Day sale where all kinds of goodies are up
for grabs.
Chelsea barely survived Everton in the first match of the FA Cup fourth round, a harbinger of
what was to come for the Premier League's big five. Yes, Manchester United and Arsenal are through,
but between a late comeback, a red card, and some dubious theatrics on a match-winning penalty
kick, each had their problems getting through to the fifth round.
