While players are now reporting to their European clubs' preseason training camps, we're all still
following the movement of American players between various clubs. This got me thinking that after
20 years of following the fortunes of US players in Europe (9 of them as a reporter), its hard not
to notice the evolution of the American presence in the European game.
Number of days since an English football club scored a goal during Fox Soccer Channel's live soccer
coverage on Saturdays: 14. We last saw a goal scored by an English team on Fox Soccer Channel on
Saturday, November 15 when Nicolas Anelka knocked the final goal in for Chelsea against West
Bromwich Albion.

The PFA's search for the Official PFA 2UP Fans' Divisional Players' of the Year Awards is now under

Ronaldo as the fans' choice.
Harry Redknapp is achieving great things at Portsmouth this season, although he's keen never to
forget the club that gave him his first managerial opportunity. The Daily Mail report that the
Pompey gaffer is determined not let AFC Bournemouth go out of business after the club were placed

For that rare breed of person who is a fan of both football along with finance law and practice,
the current goings-on with the League Two crisis clubs makes for interesting reading. For the rest
of us, it looks to lead towards the strange spectacle of three clubs - Luton, Bournemouth and
Rotherham - all [.
A couple of years ago, the Reds starlet had many of us dreaming we'd found the next home grown
talent capable of breaking through to the first team. Playing alongside his hero (Fowler), he
scored on his Liverpool debut at just 17 years of age.
Last season he had 2 loan spells and scored a stunning volley on his debut for Notts County, sadly

Football is here again, and the beginning of the season is always a time of hope as clubs start
over with a clean slate. At least, that's usually how it works. But not in League Two. Not this
year. Because of point deductions, Luton Town begin the 2008-09 campaign on -30 points. That's
minus 30. Just a few years ago Luton Town was in the top half of the Championship League, England's
second division, with the Premiership nearly in sight.
