Tottenham secured a 2-1 win over Lyon at White Hart Lane last night, but the French side's away goal was pretty special. The ball dropped out of the air in the direction of left-back Samuel Umtiti. Despite an awkward looking bounce, Umtiti made the perfect connection and the ball flew straight into the top corner [.
Brisbane Roar secured their second A-League title on the bounce on Sunday evening, though the
manner in which they did so will make your mind swim as your synapses struggle to comprehend the
weapons grade 'what the f**kity' on show.
With the score level at 1-1 and the last few seconds of normal time ebbing away, Brisbane
striker Besart Berisha blustered through the Perth area to find himself clean through, swung his
leg at a bobbling ball, missed entirely and then fell on his arse to cap off the show.
In which, over in the Greek Super League last night, Kerkyra whupped OFI Crete 4-1, with
Kerkyra's veteran German defender Timo Wenzel scoring the goal of the evening plonking one in from
80+ yards after hoofing the ball aimlessly upfield from the edge of his own area only to see his
effort bounce over the dithering OFI keeper and into the back of the net.
Bolton's Bogdan could do little but look stunned after Tim Howard booted the ball upfield and it
took a bounce that evaded him altogether. The wind carried it a good 20 yards further. Howard
refused to celebrate mindful of goalkeeper union rules. The stunning goal hogged the headlines
obscuring the equally stunning comeback by Bolton for an exceedingly rare win.
D.C. United bounce back from an emotional night on Sunday with an emphatice 4-2 win over the
Chicago Fire at RFK Stadium. Captain Dwayne De Rosario had a goal and an assist to help pace the
United response.

While the 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Contest was a disappointment, the college kids figured out how to
put on a show. If you watched the college slam dunk contest, there's no doubt you liked it better
than the NBA's version. And here's the biggest reason: video of James Justice slam dunking.
James Justice won the 2012 college slam dunk contest and capped it by completing the dunk in the
video below.
Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen sparked a few chances in Sunday's 1-0 loss against the Impact.

It's time to can the "one mistake killed us" excuse.
For the last six games, it's been become the go-to phrase when a bad bounce, an unsettling
sequence of unwatchable defending, a concentration lapse, or a moment of indifference has cost the
Revolution points.
A lot of moving this week in the Power Rankings. The four tiers are starting to fill out a
little differently than in the previous weeks.
The top tier gained a team while the second tier lost two sides (though they did gain a couple
newbies as well). The bottom tier is still a total mess. Teams 13-18 are just a toss up and I
totally understand any argument for anyone being higher/lower than they currently are.
The Germans scored a bevvy of beauts to trounce the Greeks last night, with a couple of
scintillating volleys occurring along the way. First Sami Khedira burst past his man, got his
shinpad firmly behind it and wolfed one past Michalis Sifakis...
Then Andre Schurrle one-upped him by planting a corker in off the bar.

We are now just over a week away from kick-off at Euro 2012 and going into the tournament in
Ukraine and Poland, the Spanish are favourites to make it 3 major titles on the bounce.
Vicente Del Bosque's men are priced around the 11/4 mark to lift the trophy, but I am steering
clear of them this time around.
A shocking defeat to QPR b KJ I didn't see that coming. I was so certain of a win against QPR and I
guess that was the general opinion of the squad. I can be complacent with my predictions because it
doesn't actually affect the result of the game, the squad on the other hand [...]
Arsenal eventually shows some defensive resilience and battle their way to consistent results. by
Adam Kemp The Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must be delighted with his defence after the Gunners
battled their way to two consecutive clean sheets. Seven league wins on the bounce is remarkable
consistency given the fixtures that they have had to [.
So for the second consecutive weekend we have no game and many like myself will be having
withdrawal symptoms.
There were some interesting answers in yesterdays post so I will carry on with the theme .
After five straight wins on the bounce we are all finally bouyant about our team and if the
momentum can be kept for the final ten games, third is a distinct possibility.
Liverpool will welcome Everton to Anfield on the back of three successive league defeats leading
the skipper to insist it's time for the players to stand up and be counted.
"The players need to take responsibility for where we are in the league," Gerrard said.
"It's just not good enough for a club like us to be there.
After a night to forget in the midweek, a trip away to Sunderland isn't the ideal bounce back
fixture most would ask for, but such is the way the schedule has fallen. The defeat virtually ended
our hopes of going through to the next round, and with the Premier League out of [.
After three defeats on the trot, it makes sense to have a look at the next few fixtures coming
up to see where our season is going to get back on track. After three league defeats on the bounce,
the FA Cup offers a little welcome respite provided Alex McLeish's Aston Villa [.
Flamengo beat Bangu 2-1 on Sunday thanks to two goals from Vagner Love and to celebrate one of
those goals, Love, Ronaldinho and a third teammate played leapfrog in front of the benches.
Even at 32 years old, there aren't many footballers who have more fun while playing than
Ronaldinho.
The storm is over, but the need to dig my car out meant I missed session one. If you want a
report on that group you will have to go to the Seattle Times or The News Tribune as they were the
only print media there today. Most notably was the arrival of Supplemental Draft pick Jason Banton.
Banton was still on a London schedule so he did not participate fully.
You would expect the Chelsea fans to be unanimously more than up for this considering our recent
form compared to theirs. But browsing the Chelsea forums, they are treating this one with more
caution than you would expect. The issues that existed before AVB was sacked are still present,
they're just hidden by the shroud of joy that comes with a new manager.
Tim Howard became only the 2nd American goalkeeper ever to score in the Premier League, Brad
Friedel being the other. Howard scored on a very long fly-kick Wednesday in the Toffees game
against Bolton putting Everton up 1-0. With very gusty conditions, the ball took an odd 25-yard
bounce over the head of Bolton keeper Adam [.
On a blustery night at Goodison Park, it was Everton's American doing the most for their club.
Landon Donovan got the start on his return to the club on loan. Everton took the lead in the 63rd
minute when Tim Howard scored from a goal kick (the fourth in Premier League history) that seemed
to accelerate after it took a bounce into the Bolton area.
Despite our claims to unbiased coverage on this website, it can be difficult – sometimes – to
think independently of our individual hues. Awarding Plymouth Argyle – my own team – with the
best fans award this year is such a case, although we'd argue that it's on good grounds. Pretty
much everyone, by now, should be cognisant of what a traumatic time it's been for all those
attached to the Football League's most westerly club.
The new turf at CenturyLink Field has passed FIFA's test, receiving a two-star,
professional-grad rating. This is hardly a surprise, as the turf was also two-star rated in 2009
and most, if not all, the artificial turfs in MLS are also two-star rated.
"The new turf field is a big plus for us from the standpoint that it's going to play much truer
to grass.
Jay Spearing insists leaving Liverpool has never crossed his mind, despite seeing a number of
international stars drafted into the Anfield ranks.
A product of the Reds' academy system, Spearing has faced a fight to be noticed at senior
level.
While the likes of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have paved the way for home-grown stars,
Liverpool has bolstered their squad with big-money additions on a regular basis.
Courtesy of a 4-0 victory over Coventry at St. Mary's this afternoon, Southampton will be
playing Premier League football next season for the first time in seven years! That's two
promotions on the bounce for Nigel Adkins and his boys.
If I'm brutally honest, a third win on the bounce seems an unlikely proposition and a trip to
virtual bogey-side Barnsley perhaps seems to corroborate by reluctance to express too much
optimism. Then again, with no disrespect to our Yorkshire hosts, this trip provides a
theoretically smaller challenge than our last away trip [.
The events during All-Star Saturday weren't very exciting. Surprisingly, the most exciting event
might have been the Skills Challenge. The Skills Challenge had a ton of talent and there was good
effort by each participate.
The players in the Skills Challenge were Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rajon Rondo of
the Boston Celtics, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City
Thunder, Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs.
We weren't sure whether we could love Timmy Howard any more. Just to recap, we know that he
looks like this naked and is clearly an 'all-round top bloke' if our recent convo with
him was anything to go by. But his response to scoring a wind-assisted wonder goal vs.
