In a manner of speaking, North Carolina's quarterfinal penalty-kick victory over Southern
Methodist was business as usual for a team who's road to its third-consecutive College Cup has been
rocky to say the least.
With just a month to go till the combine the MLS has wasted no time in naming its list of
invitees. The list is chosen by MLS coaches and scouts who see these players as potential draft
picks. In total the MLS has announced 58 seniors on the list, who will later be joined by a cast of
generation adidas prospects.
Brandi Chastain does not even require an introduction. She took the time to answer a few
questions about the NCAA Women's Soccer College Cup, and the Capital One Cup, which she is a part
of as a member of the Board of Advisors.
AH: First, were there any surprises, any teams people might not have expected
to be in the Final Four?
*The nation's leading scorer, South Bay native Christen Press, leads Stanford against Boston
College (3:30 p.m. ESPNU), while the other NCAA semifinal, Ohio State-Notre Dame, precedes the game
at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. The final is 9 a.m. Sunday on ESPN2.

Williamsburg, Va. - The 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Division I All-South
Atlantic Region teams were announced on Thursday, with the University of Maryland leading all teams
with six players earning a spot on the three teams. The South Atlantic Region is composed of all 12
CAA teams, all nine Big South teams, as well as Boston College, Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia
Tech out of the ACC.
Union
On the Faryd Mondragon Watch front, the FC Köln keeper reportedly coming to the Union had a
tough one this weekend, giving up a hat trick to Schalke's Raul Gonzalez in a 3–0 loss in his
last game for Köln.

The United States Women's National Team will began their preparation for the Four Nations
Tournament in China by inviting 26 players to camp at the Home Depot Center on Jan. 8-13.
Coach Pia Sundhage will then select 23 for the final roster for the tournament that will pit the
USWNT against Sweden, Canada, and the hosts, China.
What if I told you about a local kid – and a really good soccer player at that was hitting a
few speed bumps while embarking on an improbable comeback from multiple injuries with his foreign
club?
What if I told you that everyone but his manager was on board with this comeback? And what if I
also told you that, as result of his manager's indifference, this same kid was at the subject of
loan deals?
Boston College senior Karl Reddick may be a player the New England Revolution will be keeping a
close eye on at the 2011 MLS Combine and SuperDraft. According to Reddick's hometown paper, The
Pottstown Mercury, the Revs are among four MLS teams who have expressed interest in the former BC
Eagles midfielder.
