such a promising season in Norway, endearing himself to Orebro fans and USMNT fans alike-- that he

The aftermath of Saturday's final stateside tuneup for the U.S.A. saw a lot of traveling soccer
fans in Center City on a day that made Philadelphia soccer history. The many USA jerseys seen about
the city were complimented by those worn by a scattering of Turkey fans.

In a manner of speaking, North Carolina's quarterfinal penalty-kick victory over Southern
Methodist was business as usual for a team who's road to its third-consecutive College Cup has been
rocky to say the least.
The United States U-20 team began its games this week at the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland with a
1-0 win over China, thanks to a goal from 16 year-old Omar Salgado, assisted by 18 year-old Alex
Molano of Dinamo Zagreb.
The American roster named by U-20 coach Thomas Rongen has nine professional players on it: six
of them play overseas, including Molano in Croatia, three players in Portugal (Samir Badr at Porto,

Today we bring you an interview Robert Scorca and I did with Jarryd Goldberg, one of Miami FC's
standout players. Jarryd was born November 13, 1985 in Livingston, New Jersey. Goldberg attended
Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and played college soccer at Boston College and
Boston University.
For the first time this season, the top five schools in the NSCAA Top 25 remained the same but
there was a slight tweak in order.
Akron retain the top spot yet again with all 23 first-place votes while the Louisville Cardinals
stay in the runner up spot after a couple of wins last week.
With just a month to go till the combine the MLS has wasted no time in naming its list of
invitees. The list is chosen by MLS coaches and scouts who see these players as potential draft
picks. In total the MLS has announced 58 seniors on the list, who will later be joined by a cast of
generation adidas prospects.

The 2010 men's college soccer season kicked off on Wednesday night with several top teams in

Highly-regarded UCSB fell in overtime to Cal State-Bakersfield, while Stanford lost to Vermont,
also in overtime.

There were several shakeups in the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Top 25 this week, but one thing
remains constant: The Akron Zips have received every first-place vote since the Week 1 poll, and
they don't look to be relinquishing the top spot anytime soon after winning their first five games
by a combined score of 11-0.
The top-two schools in the nation will face-off this weekend when No. 2 Tulsa travels to take on
No. 1 Akron this Friday. Tulsa's offense, which has scored 18 goals through six games, will look to
break down an Akron defense which has yet to concede a goal in 2010. If the Golden Hurricanes are
going to pull off the upset they'll have to find a way to stop Darlington Nagbe, who has three
goals through the first six matches.
The 23-year-old Alejandro Bedoya has steadily been rising through the ranks of professional
and international soccer. After being a two-time finalist for the Hermann Trophy at Fairleigh
Dickinson University and Boston College, he moved to Örebro in Sweden's top division where he has
spent the last two seasons improving his craft.

Three of the country's top conferences will take another step towards crowning a champion when
the ACC, Big 10 and the Big East play their semifinals today. Some teams are playing for their NCAA
tournament lives while the national powerhouses are looking to add silverwear to trophy cases and

Sixteen teams down, 16 to go.
Wednesday saw the near shocking dismissals of ACC powerhouses Virginia and Boston College,
recent upstart Monmouth, and red-hot Princeton. On Sunday, the second round of the NCAA tournament
kicks off and the survivors of an unpredictable first round call the tournament favorites into
action as the field is whittled down to the final 16.
Eight matches were played over Friday and Saturday to determine who would move on in the NCAA
Women's Soccer playoffs. And now Eight teams are closer to reaching the College Cup, which will
take place in Cary, North Carolina on December 5.
Oklahoma State, who reached the Sweet 16 round for the first time in program history, has also
reached the Elite 8 for the first time after defeating Duke 2-0 (this would be considered an
upset).

A year ago, Alejandro Bedoya was a college standout making the difficult choice of heading to
Europe to try and find success rather than staying in the United States and signing with MLS.
While other Americans have seen that decision not work out, Bedoya's first year in Europe has
been a successful one, with the evidence of that success coming in the form of a U.
The Women's Professional Soccer draft takes place next week, on January 15th in Philadelphia at

Since September, I know I've tried to fill the void that is the WPS off-season with Champions
League, EPL matches, the MLS Championship or even National Team games but it's just not the same
:-( And I'd venture to bet my fellow die-hard WPSers have been feeling the same way. But guess what
guys, the 2010 Pre-Season is finally here.
Charlie Davies is back to training with Sochaux, and it appears that it is a matter of time that he
will be able to get back in form to join his US teammates in the 2010 World Cup this summer in
South Africa.
Davies sat down with Arch Bell from Yanks Abroad to update his training and health status.
