U.S. women's national team coach Pia Sundhage has called on 28 players for a May training camp
in New Jersey ahead of a friendly against China at PPL Park on May 27, as the U.S. women continue
their preparations for this summer's Olympics.
The U.S. women will train in Princeton from Thursday until May 25 in the build-up to the
friendly, and this camp comes on the heels of an April camp in Florida in which 26 of the 28
players called upon this time around participated.

The Boston Breakers found goals from three players in a 3-1 exhibition win over Boston College
on Wednesday.
Heather O'Reilly, Katie Schoepfer and Bianca D'Agostino all scored for the Breakers in their
first preseason match of the spring.
The left hamstring injury that midfielder Sainey Nyassi suffered during the Feb. 10 preseason
match against Boston College has landed him on the Revolution's disabled list to start the 2012
season, the team announced on Wednesday. He is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.
Nyassi, who came off in the 20th minute of the match against the Eagles, will miss a minimum of
the team's first six matches.
Preseason? We're talking about preseason here? Yes we are. After all, only so much can be taken
away from a 2-1 win over a fourth division side. And while beating Boston College a few times is
nice, it is still only beating a college team. The beginning of the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup is
the first opportunity to see the Revolution compete against MLS competition.

against Boston College on Wednesday. (Photo: Chris Aduama/aduama.com)
Those familiar with seeing Shalrie Joseph pushing forward and becoming heavily involved in the
attack may see less of it in 2012, depending on the New England Revolution captain's midfield
partner.

New England Revolution midfielder Kenny Mansally is set to join the Gambian National Team for an
African Cup of Nations qualifying home match against Algeria on February 29th.
Saër Sène, the New England Revolution's new striker, might be 6-foot-3, but despite that large
frame the French striker isn't a typical target forward.
Instead, Sène, who has spent the last two seasons with German side Bayern Munich II, will help
the Revs by using his skill and pace to get behind the opposition's defense, according to head
coach Jay Heaps.
The New England Revolution continued their preseason schedule on Friday afternoon with 3-0
scrimmage victory over Boston College at Gillette Stadium. Rookie Kelyn Rowe led the Revs with two
goals in the win.
The Revs started the match with most of their veterans on the pitch. Matt Reis started in goal
with Chris Tierney, A.
U.S. WNT head coach Pia Sundhage has named the roster for the January training camp in Los Angeles,
after which she will name the 20-player roster for Olympic Qualifying being held in Vancouver, B.C.
from Jan, 19-29. Sundhage will bring 20 players to Canada, but will only be able to suit up 18 per
game.
Breakers' midfielders Meghan Klingenberg and Keelin Winters were among 31 players called into
U.S. Women's National Team camp by head coach Pia Sundhage on Wednesday. The camp will run from
Dec. 3-20, and will take place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Klingenberg started in 10 games for the Breakers in 2011 after the team acquired her from the
now-defunct magicJack squad on June 1.
The Brown University Bears' (12-5-3) NCAA Division I Tournament run came to an end on Sunday

When Boston College was announced as the fourth seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, more than a
few people raised their eyebrows in surprise. On Sunday, the rest of the college soccer world found
out why.
The Eagles were shocked at home by unseeded Rutgers with a penalty kick shootout loss, dumping
Boston College out in their first game of the tournament.
In a move that baffles me, the New England Revolution have named the color commentator on the
team's television broadcasts as their new coach.
I am shocked that with so many good coaches available, hello Garry Smith, that the Revs would
hire a coach with no professional coaching experience.
Five New England-based schools have been invited to the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer
Championship after the tournament bracket was unveiled Monday.
Providence College (R.I), Brown University (R.I.), Boston College (Mass.), Dartmouth College
(N.H.), and the University of Connecticut all earned bids to this year's Division 1 tournament.

Providence College (R.I), Brown University (R.I.), Boston College (Mass.), Dartmouth College

The conference tournaments are done and most teams have finished their seasons, but a select few
now move on to the NCAA Tournament to take a shot at a national title. The bracket was announced
this afternoon and it comes as no surprise that multiple Sounders Academy players will be on the
field when the tournament kicks off this week.
There are some big time matches in the 2011 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The 48-team bracket
was revealed today with UNC tabbed as the top seed in the tournament. The Tar Heels went 17-2-2 on
the season. Creighton, UCONN and Boston College were the other top four seeds.
Here is how the field breaks down (seeded teams have first-round byes, first-round games to be

The Creighton Blue Jays are joined by the Bradley Braves today in receiving NCAA bids. The 48
team field was announced at 3:30 pm today via NCAA.com and includes the two Missouri Valley teams.
Creighton received the overall #2 seed, behind North Carolina who won their Conference championship
on Sunday over Boston College, who enter the tournament as the fourth seed.
The 48-team field was announced for the 2011 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament, and as is the case
every year, there were some surprises as well as some surprising omissions.

Ben Speas scored twice and added an assist as North Carolina rolled to its third ACC title with
a 3-1 victory over Boston College.
The Tar Heels offense came from an unlikely source as Speas equaled his goal-scoring tally for
the season.
The NCAA men's college soccer season wraps up pre-NCAA Tournament play today on what is
essentially conference championship Sunday, with most of the country's biggest conference crowning
champions today.
The Big East, ACC and Big Ten are among the conferences that are holding championship games
today, and along with the conference titles up for grabs, there are also the automatic NCAA berths
that go along with them.

Boston College continued their unexpected charge into the ACC finals while North Carolina
continued to look like a national title contender as the semifinals of the ACC wrapped up on a
chilly night in Cary, NC.
North Carolina finally took advantage of a number of gilt-edged chances less than two minutes
into the first overtime period to claim a 1-0 victory over a physical Virginia team.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Brian Span (So., Somers, N.Y.) scored the golden goal with
20 seconds remaining in double overtime to propel the fourth-seeded Virginia men's soccer team to a
4-3 victory over fifth-seeded Wake Forest Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the 2011 ACC
Tournament at Klöckner Stadium.
If Tuesday's quarterfinals were any indication of how the rest of the ACC Tournament is going to
play out, we are in for one wild tournament.
Defending champion Maryland saw its title defend end after one match as Boston College jumped
out to an early two-goal lead before holding off a fierce comeback to post a 2-1 upset victory on
Tuesday night.

As the ACC Tournament gets into full swing tonight at campus sites up and down the East Coast,
all signs point to a rematch of last year's final between top-seeded North Carolina and No. 2
Maryland.
That's not to say other schools won't make a push as they look to secure postseason berths.
The way things are shaking out for Creighton, it would appear that the Bluejays are well on their
way to a top seed in the NCAA men's soccer tournament.
After finishing the regular season as Missouri Valley Conference co-champions, the Bluejays, who
are a perfect 9-0 at home this season, are set to host the league's tournament this week.
Boston College, Boston University, and Harvard University are among the 64 schools that earned
bids for the 2011 NCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Championship after the tournament brackets were
released on Monday.
Up at the Heights, Boston College went 11-5-2, and finished fourth in the perennially
competitive Atlantic Coast Conference.
Though the 2011 season for the senior team has come to a close, we're here to remind you that if
you're a Sounder at heart, the season never truly ends. Our first graduated class of Academy
players is making their mark as Freshmen across the college soccer landscape.
It's been a couple of weeks since the last update and the college season is winding down to the
last few matches before conference tournaments and then the NCAA tournament culminating in the
College Cup hosted in Hoover, Alabama.
As the NCAA men's soccer regular season winds down, the game of musical chairs atop the NCAA RPI
rankings continues to go on.
Guided by Ethan Finlay and Tyler Polak, the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Offensive and
Defensive Players of the Week, the Creighton Bluejays are out to a 15-2-0 record and have wrestled
the top spot away from Maryland, one of the two teams to have defeated Creighton this season.

For the second straight week, the top teams in the nation suffered through some shocking upset
defeats.
In its penultimate game of the regular season, top-ranked Maryland lost to Clemson, 2-1. The
Terps had a man advantage for much of the match, but Clemson was able to exploit the makeshift back
line Maryland used, scoring twice in the second half to win the game.
Yet another busy weekend in the Virginia college soccer world as October came to a close. Take a

This weekend's game of the week in college soccer could quite possible be the game of the year
as two title contenders clash in Chapel Hill.
Newly minted No. 1 Maryland and No. 5 North Carolina have been the two leading contenders in the
chase for the ACC title and Friday's clash (5:30 p.
A day after No. 2 ranked North Carolina suffered an upset loss to Davidson College, unbeaten and
No. 1 ranked UConn also fell.
West Virginia rode goals from Shadow Sebele and Eric Schoenle to post a 2-0 victory over the
Huskies in Morgantown on Tuesday night. The Mountaineers took it to the visiting Huskies for much of
the match, and broke through when Sabele converted a first-half penalty kick in the 34th
minute.
UConn might have had its perfect run and extended shutout streak both come to an end, but the
Huskies are still the top team in the country.
UConn settled for a draw against Notre Dame last weekend but improved to 12-0-1 after a 2-1 win
over Providence on Wednesday to maintain its place at the No.

A couple of ACC matchups highlight this weekend in college soccer as teams jockey for position
in the country's most competitive conference.
No. 2 Maryland looks to continue their unbeaten start to the season with a trip to a Virginia
side desperate to become players in the regular-season title chase.

In men's college soccer this weekend there is yet another big match that pits two of the top
teams in the country against one another. A defensive powerhouse against an offensive juggernaut.
For those who are keeping tabs of course I am talking about Maryland and Creighton's match

If there was one weekend with matches most resembling what we could see in the tournament in
