Earlier this month, rumors swirled about Boston City FC potentially moving up from NPSL to NASL next season. On Thursday, the club announced a significant partnership that may serve as a prelude to that jump to second-division soccer.

With plenty of buzz about which league they'll compete in next year, Boston City announced a corporate partnership with Boston-based New Balance, which will become the club's official outfitter and apparel supplier.

It was an eventful debut, to say the least, for the New England Revolution Under-23 squad just outside of Boston on Friday.

The newly-formed squad overcame an early deficit, a missed penalty, and an ejection to beat NPSL side Boston City FC 2-1 in a club friendly at Malden Catholic High School in Malden, Mass.

Boston City's Jhonata Batista picked up a hat trick as Boston City FC rolled to a 6-1 win over Seacoast United Mariners on Saturday at Brother Gilbert Stadium in Malden, Mass.

Batista opened the account in the 17th minute before striking again in the 75th and 90th minutes.

Boston City FC kicked off its second season in NPSL with an entertaining 1-1 draw to New York Cosmos B on Saturday at Malden Catholic High School in Malden, Mass.

The home support was greeted by Jhonata Batista's goal inside of 12 minutes after the Lions midfielder took a pass from Nana Addai, turned, then uncorked a shot into the back of the Cosmos net.

After a strong inaugural campaign, expectations are high for Boston City FC, who open their second NPSL season in a highly-anticipated matchup between division rival New York Cosmos B Saturday at Malden Catholic High School.

Boston City FC hosted the Cosmos B in last season's home opener as well, which resulted in a 3-1 loss for the Lions following a red card, forcing them to go shorthanded against a powerful Cosmos B team.

Midfielder Michael Bustamante added to his recent scoring haul on Sunday as Boston City edged the Brooklyn Italians 1-0 at Malden Catholic High School in Malden, Mass.

Bustamante scored his fourth of the season in the 56th minute to send the locals to victory in the first game of a lengthy, four-match home set.

Boston City extended its unbeaten streak three after Homero Morais cancelled out an early own goal to secure a 1-1 draw to Seacoast United Phantoms on Saturday at Amesbury Park in Amesbury, Mass.

Gabriel Da Souza inadvertently directed a shot from Seacoast's Matias Candia into the back of the Boston net in the 21st minute.
