Don't look now but the New York Knicks are once again a legitimate NBA team. By defeating the
Toronto Raptors 116-99 on Sunday, the Knicks are now 12-9 after winning their fourth straight game.
New York is in second place in the Atlantic Division 4.5 games behind the Boston Celtics and 3.5
games up on the third place Raptors.
The Philadelphia 76ers were about to take home an impressive victory but Kevin Garnett had other
plans. On a pass from Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett completed an alley-oop with 1.4 seconds remaining
to give the Boston Celtics a 102-101 win over the Sixers. The Celtics improved to 18-4, while the
Sixers dropped to 7-15.
Rajon Rondo is having a fantastic season for the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately for Rondo and the
Celtics, the point guard is finding it difficult to stay healthy. Rondo's latest injury is a
sprained left ankle that will keep him out a while. GM Danny Ainge says Rondo will be out a couple
of weeks, while head coach Doc Rivers said one or two weeks.
The Boston Celtics can't be stopped. Even without the injured Rajon Rondo, the Celtics were able
to beat the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 102-90 to extend their winning streak to 12 games.
Most experts thought it would be the Miami Heat leading the way in the Eastern Conference but
instead it is the old yet still hungry Celtics.
The Miami Heat headed into Monday's contest with the Dallas Mavericks riding a 12-game winning
streak. Powered by suffocating defense and Dirk Nowitzki's offensive touch, the Mavs were able to
put an end to the Heat's streak. Nowitzki scored 26 points in the Mavs 98-96 victory in Miami.
Nowitzki hit all ten of his freebies and added nine rebounds and two assists.
We are about a third of the way into the NBA season and it appears that five teams are heads and
shoulders above the rest. While other teams have a chance to get into the championship picture, as
of right now these are the five teams that are a step above the field. In order, here are the top
five teams in the NBA.
With a lull in the news and the MLS SuperDraft not being until January 15, I thought I would
turn to Facebook fandom numbers for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL & MLS. I've been tracking a couple of
pages off and on but now I have complied a full list that covers all 5 leagues. I realize that
Sports Fan Graph tracks this information but I collected the final information from each Facebook
page over the course of an hour or two last evening.
The Boston Celtics are playing the Orlando Magic on Christmas. Celtics forward Paul Pierce is
making good use of his time in Orlando by taking his daughter to Disney World. Here are the picture
of Paul Pierce and his daughter having a blast in the happiest place on earth.

The Orlando Magic have revamped their roster. On Thursday, the Magic showed exactly what they
may become when their offense exploded and left the Spurs helpless. The Magic easily defeated the
Spurs 123-101. Entering the game, the Magic had lost eight of nine, while the Spurs were riding a
ten-game winning streak.
Kevin Garnett scared his teammates and all fans of the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night when he
pulled up lame after dunking the basketball against the Detroit Pistons. Coaches, trainers and
teammates gathered around him fearing the worst. As it turned out, the Celtics training staff is
now confident that Garnett's injury isn't serious.
As we reach the end of our 2010 calendars, it's time for the next edition of our EveryJoe NBA
power rankings. While there are a lot of mediocre teams in the NBA this year, there are a handful
of teams who are definitely the cream of the crop. Here are the top ten best teams in the NBA in
this 2010-11 campaign:
