Early goals, excitement in the middle, and losing the game late. These are all things that this season's New England Revolution are starting to do to us. The team debuted Jose Moreno, to minimal fanfare, and had the comeback of Benny Feilhaber held on a day where the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and Boston Red Sox were all playing.

Granted, we know next to nothing about the NHL/Ice Hockey, in fact, we haven't watched any since Charlie Conway was earmarked as the next big thing back in the early '90s but, nevertheless, these 'ere 'Sockey' kits get our seal of approval.

Some dilligent (presumably otherwise unemployed) soul has been busy, beavering away at producing these fantasy Sockey strips i.

#soccerbowl79 - So hot right now!
A common joke term used to describe Canada is "America's Hat". However, if you look at the two Canadian clubs in Major League Soccer - it's more like "America's Bib". While the perfectly perfect Vancouver Whitecaps have the excuse of being a first-year MLS club to was away their sins, the local club just has to rely on its corporate motto "Rebuilding Since 2008".

This week was a busy one for the Revs as they hosted two home games against Eastern Conference foes. Although the Revs only picked up 2 out of a possible 6 points, at least the Bruins won, right? Also, I learned things about America.

The Revs had a two game home-stand this week starting with Toronto FC on Wednesday night.

Welcome to the New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC live game thread! Tonight marks the Revolution's second match of a three-in-seven run and a welcome return home after a heartbreaking trip to New York last weekend. This will be New England's first encounter with new Toronto head coach Aron Winter's Dutch 4-3-3 system that plays similarly to what Steve Nicol has insisted he is trying to implement in Foxboro.

Do we have Benjamin Massey on suicide watch? His Eighty-Six Forever blog hasn't been updated since before the USMNT played Canada in the Gold Cup.

You could understand him being a little down, along with every other sports fan in Vansterdam. In the finals of the Official Sport of Canada™, the Canucks were crushed by the Boston Bruins 8-1 to make it a series and threaten to continue a streak that hasn't seen a Stanley Cup champion from the country that invented the game since 1993.

The top U.S. sports websites (most read/most popular) are; YAHOO.com, ESPN.com, FOXsports.com and SI.com. None of these sites give MLS its own category/webpage on their homepages.
MLS is found only among the 'Soccer' category.
Each of the other big '4' team sports have their own categories.

There is plenty to say about sports in New England. Intimacy isn't necessarily what first comes to mind. Not as much as, say, titles, playoffs, trophies, and the like. With six states sharing one professional sports team for each of the top-tier sports, it can be a challenge to stand by your team through the entirety of its season.

Found a link to this on Yahoo sports. He's been doing the Boston Bruins hockey games for the last few years, and he hasn't changed a bit. From what I've read online, he is still the same love/hate announcer with his own unique brand of catchphrases. This is classic Jack:
The man loves his history references.

The video of Shawn Thornton's injury is difficult to watch. If you are brave enough, scroll down to see Shawn Thornton get kicked in the face with a skate. Luckily for him, the skate missed his eye and he was able to be put back together with 40 stitches. And like a true hockey player, he brushed off the injury after the game.
